Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead warehouse operations supporting a manufacturing facility in Walterboro, SC. This critical leadership position will oversee safety, food safety compliance, inventory accuracy and traceability, team development, budget performance, and operational efficiency within a multi-shift, seven-day-a-week operation. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on, results‑oriented leader with experience in warehouse or distribution management within a manufacturing environment. This individual will have a proven ability to build high‑performing teams, improve operational processes, and drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily and strategic warehouse operations with accountability for safety, quality, throughput, inventory accuracy, service, and cost performance.
- Build, develop, coach, and retain high-performing warehouse teams while fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Establish and manage warehouse KPIs, identify performance gaps, and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee inbound raw materials and packaging, staging, and timely material supply to production.
- Manage inventory control and traceability, including lot‑code tracking, FIFO/FEFO, cycle counting, and root‑cause analysis of inventory variances.
- Ensure accurate loading and unloading, on‑time shipping, case‑fill performance, recordkeeping, SOP compliance, safety, and warehouse housekeeping.
- Partner closely with manufacturing, logistics, and supply chain teams to ensure efficient product and material flow across all shifts.
- Champion Lean methodologies and cost‑saving initiatives to eliminate waste and deliver sustainable process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, GMPs, and AIB/GFSI audit requirements.
- Manage staffing levels, warehouse capacity, budgets, forecasting, and operational reporting.
- Maintain a consistent on‑site presence across multiple shifts, including scheduled nights and weekends.
- Travel occasionally to other company facilities as needed.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive warehouse or distribution leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a management role.
- Experience within the food or beverage industry, including hands‑on experience with lot tracking, traceability, and inventory rotation in a regulated environment.
- Strong background in Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations and partnering with production, logistics, and supply chain functions.
- Demonstrated success building, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS); experience with Ross/Aptean ERP is a significant plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage employees from the warehouse floor through senior leadership.
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, multi‑shift manufacturing environment, including nights and weekends as required.
