Job summary

CBX Solutions, the nation’s leading provider of architectural doors, frames, hardware, and security integration services, seeks a Warehouse Manager to oversee warehouse operations and inventory flow in a fast-paced environment. You will manage staff, ensure timely shipping/receiving, and uphold safety standards across the facility.

The role requires hands-on leadership, attention to accuracy, and coordination with sales and management to optimize stock and operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 4 Year College Degree in related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of warehouse related experience with direct supervision of staff required.
• Some knowledge of the door and hardware industry and products preferred.
• Experience using Comsense preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives incoming material and marks shipments based on schedule.
• Monitors material flow through receiving, shipping and storage.
• Tracks errors and costs and alerts appropriate department.
• Monitors equipment maintenance and ensures it is current.
• Assists in evaluation and purchasing of new equipment or vehicles.
• Manages all warehouse and delivery employees.
• Conducts regular meetings with staff to provide feedback or address problems.
• Monitors driver MVRs to ensure safe operations.
• Maintains high safety standards for equipment and facility.
• Investigates accidents and reports to Branch Manager.
• Influences stock items to be added or deleted from inventory.
• Oversees returned goods process and minimizes charges.
• Manages obsolete or overstock material and conducts inventory reserve analysis.
• Supports inventory reconciliation after physical counts.

The Warehouse Manager has overall responsibility for the efficient operation of warehouse and inventory flow. Included in this area of responsibility are receiving and shipping through the warehouse, fleet operations and deliveries, inventory activities and maintaining a safe and clean facility. The Warehouse Manager supervises a staff including drivers, warehouse workers, facilitates new hires, reviews employees and is responsible for progressive discipline of all staff that reports to them. Responsible for overseeing warehouse staff, shipping/receiving, delivery drivers, etc.

Essential Functions

• Receives incoming material and assembles and marks shipments based on current frame, door and hardware schedule
• Monitors material flow through warehouse, including receiving, shipping and storage, assuring accuracy and efficiency at all points
• Follows up on any shipping or other warehouse errors; tracks errors and costs and alerts appropriate department
• Monitors equipment maintenance, including vehicles, assuring that preventative maintenance is always current and equipment is in good working order
• Assists in evaluation and purchasing any new equipment or vehicles needed
• Manages all warehouse and delivery employees
• Conducts regular meetings with departmental staff to provide feedback on successes or receives information on problems that need a solution
• Monitors qualification of warehouse employees, including driver's MVR records, to assure safe operations and maximum operating efficiency
• Maintains high safety standards, assuring that equipment and facility is in good working order and that individual operators (trucks, forklifts, welding equipment, saws or other shop tools) are properly trained
• Investigates any accidents, assuring proper reporting to Branch Manager for insurance carriers and follow-up to avoid any subsequent incidents
• Influences decisions (along with sales and executive management) on stock items to be added or deleted from stock inventory
• Supervises returned goods process, whether from salespersons' specific orders or from stock, assuring that returnable items are promptly sent to vendors, credit is received and properly applied and return charges are minimized.
• Controls any obsolete or overstock material, summarizing same and preparing inventory reserve analysis on a semi-annual basis; disposes of obsolete inventory when appropriate
• Assists in any book to physical inventory difference research that may be necessary following physical inventories

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma Required
• 4 Year College Degree in related field preferred
• 1 – 2 years of warehouse related experience with direct supervision of staff required
• Some knowledge of the door and hardware industry and products preferred
• Experience using Comsense preferred

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Experience using Microsoft Office products required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required

Physical Demands

This position is primarily sedentary. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; stand; walk; and reach or lift using hands and arms. Will require occasional driving for delivery and forklift operations.

Work Environment

This job operates in both a professional office and warehouse environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Conditions may include proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery and using various tools and hardware. Worker is subject to possible heavy lifting.
