Job summary

Commercial Tire is seeking a Warehouse Manager to lead receiving, storage, and distribution operations from the main warehouse(s). You will manage a team of warehouse employees and optimize processes to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of tire and product shipments.

The role requires ensuring safety, efficiency, and budget adherence, while collaborating with procurement and transportation teams to optimize routes and inventory levels.

Qualifications

  • A valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
  • Forklift and fall protection certification within 30 days of entry date.
  • Must be able to lift 75lbs regularly.
  • Associates degree OR 4+ years warehouse/transportation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the activities of workers engaged in receiving, storing, testing, and shipping products or materials.
  • Plan, develop, or implement and ensures the warehouse safety and security programs and activities are being done.
  • Inspect physical conditions of warehouses, vehicle fleets, or equipment and order testing, maintenance, repairs, or replacements.
  • Respond to customer or shipper questions and complaints regarding storage and distribution services.
  • Develop and document standard and emergency operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, shipping, or salvaging products or materials.
  • Review invoices, work orders, consumption reports, or demand forecasts to estimate peak delivery periods and to issue work assignments
  • Monitor inventory levels of products or materials in warehouses and works with procurement team on needs.
  • Is always looking and making recommendations for more effective and efficient work patterns for the drivers and the stores.
  • Ensure that Driver routes are most effective.
  • Leads and handles all employee relations issues in the warehouse using available resources.
  • Develop storage and distribution models that include factors such as warehouse locations, customer locations, or available transportation modes to maximize operational efficiency or sustainability.
  • Track and trace goods while they are enroute to their destinations, expediting orders when necessary
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets
  • Other duties as assigned

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Warehouse Manager plans, organizes and monitors the receiving, storage and distribution of all items received either from suppliers or internal transfers, ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so tires and products are distributed to proper locations in an effective and efficient manner from the main warehouse(s). This is done by engaging and leading a team of warehouse employees.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL FUNCTIONS

Physical Demands:

  • Standing: 80% | Walking: 70% | Sitting: 5%
  • Frequent stopping/bending, kneeling, twisting, climbing, and walking on uneven surfaces
  • Frequent lifting/carrying: up to/ over 50 lbs
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for grasping and dexterity
  • Constant visual, auditory, and verbal communication required

Work Environment:

  • Occasional exposure to noise, dirt, dust, mechanical vibration, fumes, and outdoor conditions
  • Occasional hazards due to mechanical equipment, moving objects, and roadside work

Equipment Operated:

  • Seldom use of a computer and keyboard
  • Operate DOT cars, vehicles and forklifts frequently
  • Required to use protective gear (PPE)
