Job summary

All Surfaces is seeking a Warehouse Manager in Madison, WI to lead a proactive, innovative team and drive operational success.

You will set productivity goals, manage inventory, enforce safety standards, and coordinate with branches to ensure high customer service.

Candidates should have 5+ years warehouse experience, 1+ year supervisory experience, forklift certification, and an understanding of industry best practices; flooring industry experience a plus. Work schedule: Mon-Fri 6:00am–3:30pm.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of warehouse experience in retail, wholesale trade, or a similar environment.
• 1+ years of supervisor/leadership experience.
• Forklift experience and/or certification.
• In-depth understanding of the industry and best practices for warehouse operation.
• Experience in the flooring industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop all warehouse staff to create a positive and engaged team environment.
• Motivate the warehouse staff to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations as reviewed during routine huddles.
• Establish and reinforce safety, maintenance, compliance, and cleanliness standards in operations.
• Manage warehouse associates, monitoring work and ensuring safe use of equipment.
• Verify orders for accuracy and quality at receiving and shipping stages.
• Operate equipment for material handling (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
• Follow SOPs for paperwork and electronic systems processes.
• Organize warehouse space and inventory to meet safety and efficiency standards.
• Monitor drop points and coordinate with branches to ensure high customer service.
• Foster strong communication between employees, management, and other departments.
• Be able to serve as backup in all warehouse positions.

Position Overview

The Warehouse Manager must be proactive, innovative, and analytical with a sense of urgency and the ability to work independently and as a team to strive towards operational success. Lead a team by setting productivity goals, placing inventory orders, setting up systems, and communicating within the warehouse.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:00am-3:30pm

Essential Functions

• Lead and develop all warehouse staff to create a positive and engaged team environment.
• Motivate the warehouse staff to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations as reviewed during routine huddles.
• Establish and reinforce operational, delivery, and warehouse safety, maintenance, compliance, and cleanliness standards.
• Manage warehouse associates, monitoring work and ensuring the safe use of warehouse equipment.
• Verify orders for accuracy and quality at every stage of receiving and shipping process.
• Operate all equipment necessary for material handling such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other relevant equipment.
• Follow shipping and receiving standard operating procedures (SOP) for both paperwork and electronic systems processes.
• Recommends maintenance, mechanical, electrical, and facility design modifications to warehouses, buildings, and grounds.
• Organize warehouse space and inventory to meet safety, efficiency, and inventory control standards for storage and transport.
• Monitor drop points and remote warehouse locations and coordinate with other branches to ensure high customer service.
• Fosters strong communication between employees, management, and other departments.
• Able to operate fully as a backup in all warehouse positions.
• Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required.

Work Experience

• 5+ years of warehouse experience in retail, wholesale trade, or a similar environment.
• 1+ years of supervisor/leadership experience.
• Forklift experience and/or certification.
• In-depth understanding of the industry and best practices for warehouse operation.
• Experience in the flooring industry is a plus.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Must be able to regularly lift to 75 lbs.
• Ability to walk or stand for a long period.
• Able to wear work boots and meet the standard of the company’s workplace safety (if applicable).
• Be able to pass a background check and drug test for pre-employment screening.
• Legally permitted to work in the United States.

• High school diploma or equivalent degree.
