Job summary

Scandinavian Designs - Dania Furniture is seeking a Warehouse Manager at our Indianapolis location to lead warehouse operations, ensure timely deliveries, and uphold safety standards. This full-time, non-exempt role supports the Transportation team and reports to the leadership while coordinating with drivers and showroom staff.

You will train staff on equipment use, manage loading/unloading tasks, and deliver exceptional customer service in person, on the phone, or at the delivery site.

Qualifications

• Read and understand assemblies, shipping and receiving paperwork.
• Ability to learn product assembly and train staff.
• Valid state driver’s license required and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Ensure warehouse processes run smoothly and promptly.
• Enforce safety policies and supervise delivery drivers.
• Load/unload merchandise and protect from damage.
• Provide world class customer service by phone, in warehouse and on deliveries.
• Train staff to safely use tools like forklift and pallet jack.
• Document invoices, packing slips and bills of lading.
• Coordinate with Transportation team and supervise delivery drivers' compliance.
• Act as substitute driver when needed.

Come join our great team at Scandinavian Designs - Dania Furniture as a Warehouse Manager!

Location: 8250 Castleton Corner Indianapolis, IN 46250

Position: Full-time / Non-Exempt (40hrs a week)

Pay: $22 - 24 / hr!

NOTE: All applicants must satisfactorily complete our pre-employment drug screen, physical (Obtain DOT Medical Card), background, and motor vehicle record check.

• CDL Class \"C\" preferred but not required. We pay for DOT Med cards!

What You Will Do

• Ensure all warehouse processes are running smoothly and promptly.


• Adhere to, enforce and report all safety policies and procedures in the warehouse and supervise deliver drivers with Transportation team.


• Load and unload merchandise into customers’ cars and delivery trucks avoiding damage.


• Provide “world class” customer service on the phone, in the warehouse and on deliveries.


• Guarantee staff are properly trained to safely use tools, i.e. forklift, pallet jack, hand tools and safe loading and unloading methods.


• Document creation and accuracy on invoices, packing slips and bills of landing.


• Learn product assembly and hire, train and retain Warehouse Associates and Sales Support as needed.


• Partner with Transportation Team on all driver related matters quickly and efficiently.


• Supervise Delivery Driver’s compliance and all white glove services with the Transportation team.


• The Warehouse Manager serves as a substitute driver as needed and observes safe lifting methods.


• Assist with building maintenance i.e., repairs, services, janitorial and ad-hoc responsibilities as needed.


• Dotted Line Reporting and coordination to the Transportation team.


• Additional duties as assigned.

Who You Are and Must

• Team player and good communication skills


• Read and understand assemblies, instructions, shipping and receiving paperwork.


• Willingness and desire to learn and expand job functions


• Ability to change priorities based on business needs


• Operating forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, hand tools equipment experiences preferred


• Able to lift 75 lbs., unassisted, moving furniture in showroom, warehouse and onto trucks.


• Basic math, computer, and POS skills with a high degree of accuracy.


• Have a valid state issued driver’s license.
  
  
  
  • Minimum 2 years of safe driving. Preferred 5+ years driving experience
  
  
  
  


• CDL preferred but not required.


• Able to obtain a DOT Medical certificate.
  
  
  
  • Employment in this role is dependent on maintaining all DOT and driving certifications if applicable to the location.
  
  
  
  


• Able to successfully complete our pre-employment physical and drug screening.


• Continuous standing, lifting, bending and twisting


• Comfortable at heights up to 25’

Working Conditions

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent GED, 1-3 years successful work experience, preferably in a warehouse environment.
