Job Summary:
We need a battle-tested Warehouse Manager to command our mission-critical warehouse operations in a 24/7 defense manufacturing stronghold. You’ll lead from the front, overseeing inventory control, storage of flammables and hazardous substances, and space planning for a high-stakes, mil-spec environment. Armed with modern Warehouse Management Software (WMS) and safety certifications, you’ll ensure razor-sharp efficiency, safety, and readiness in a facility supporting metalworking, plastics, and heavy industrial processes. Build and lead a disciplined team to secure the supply chain for America’s defense.
Key Responsibilities:
Fortify Warehouse Operations: Oversee all warehouse functions, ensuring
seamless storage, retrieval, and distribution of materials for a 24/7 defense
manufacturing facility supporting metalworking, plastics, and heavy industry.
Master Inventory Control: Implement cycle counts, inventory audits, and mil-spec
compliant inventory control processes to maintain mission-critical stock accuracy and
readiness.
Secure Hazardous Materials: Manage safe storage and handling of flammables
and hazardous substances, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety
standards in a high-risk environment.
Wield Warehouse Management Software: Set up, operate, and optimize modern
WMS platforms to streamline inventory tracking, space utilization, and order
fulfillment.
Lead Material Handling Safety: Enforce safety protocols for material handling, lift
truck operations, overhead cranes, and lifting devices, maintaining certifications and
training staff to uphold a zero-incident standard.
Optimize Space Planning: Design and execute efficient warehouse layouts to
maximize storage capacity and operational flow in a dynamic, mil-spec environment.
Build a Battle-Ready Team: Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing warehouse
team, fostering discipline, adaptability, and accountability in a fast-paced,
mission-driven setting.
Drive Relentless Improvement: Identify and implement lean warehouse processes
to cut waste, boost efficiency, and integrate advanced technologies for operational
superiority.
Enforce Mil-Spec Compliance: Ensure all warehouse activities meet mil-spec
standards, ISO 9001, and safety regulations, conducting regular audits to maintain
operational integrity.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
5-7 years managing warehouse/stores operations in a large manufacturing facility (metalworking, plastics, furniture manufacturing, or similar heavy industry); proven expertise in mil-spec environments.
Technical Skills:
Fluency in setup and operation of modern Warehouse Management Software (WMS); expertise in inventory control and cycle counts; experience with storage of flammables and hazardous substances.
Certifications:
Safety certifications for material handling, lift truck operations, and familiarity with overhead cranes and lifting devices.
Leadership/Work Style:
Hands-on, “in the trenches” leadership; thrives under pressure and tight deadlines; proven ability to build and lead a disciplined team.
Soft Skills:
Precision-driven problem-solver; collaborative yet decisive; committed to mission success.
Physical Requirements:
Ready to stand, lift (up to 50 lbs), and lead on the warehouse floor in a high-intensity environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in defense manufacturing or heavy industrial warehouses.
Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems for integrated inventory management.
Exposure to automation or robotics in warehouse operations.
Work Environment:
