Job summary

Simpson Strong-Tie, a leader in engineered structural connectors, is seeking a Warehouse Manager in Billings, MT. You will oversee hiring, training, safety, and equipment, and coordinate shipping workflows while analyzing data from SAP reports to optimize daily operations.

You will coach and develop a team, drive continuous improvement, and ensure accurate timekeeping and policy adherence. This role demands hands-on leadership on the shop floor and strong collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 5 years warehouse and logistics experience and/or training, or equivalent.
• 3 years proven ability to lead, coach, and mentor teams; prioritize work and drive change.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office, SAP WMS, and Workday.

Responsibilities

• Manage all warehouse functions including hiring, training, safety, and equipment requirements.
• Coordinate workflow for shipping departments; review SAP productivity reports, errors, and schedules; adjust daily plans.
• Coach and develop employees; maintain accountability and presence on the shop floor.
• Improve department flow with mid-to-long term efficiencies; audit against work instructions.
• Maintain accurate timecards and address issues per policy and the collective bargaining agreement.
• Set long-term vision and cascade directives through leadership.

YOU

As a Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for supporting warehouse operations.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Manage all warehouse functions including hiring, training, safety, and equipment requirements. Coordinate work flow for all shipping departments by attending daily performance meetings, analyze data, such as SAP productivity reports, errors, and schedules, daily and make adjustments accordingly. (30%)

Coach, encourage, and develop employees according to their unique interests and strengths Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback. Have a presence on the shop floor to assist and guide supervisors, leads, and associates. (30%)

Improve the flow of work through the department and gain mid to long term efficiencies by providing guidance and direction the team in continuous improvement efforts. Perform regular audits against work instructions. (15%)

Maintain employee relations by ensuring that employee timecards are managed and accurate, resolving issues in a timely matter and consistent with company policies and Collective Bargaining Agreement. (15%)

Create and maintain long term vision and goals for department and cascade those directives down through the leadership team to all employees. (10%)

Desired Skills And Experience

• Bachelor Degree (B.A./B.S.) preferred
• 5 years warehouse and logistics experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and training.
• 3 years proven ability to effectively lead by motivating, coaching and mentoring team members. Proven ability to prioritize work and champion change.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP Warehouse Management System (WMS), and Workday.
• Ability to effectively communicate in group settings and one-on-one, with all departments and at all levels within the organization.
• Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Manage and resolve conflicts in a constructive manner.
• Ability to apply basic algebraic and geometric concepts. Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimal equivalents.
• Consistently exemplify the highest safety standards and monitor others to the same.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, exempt position is located in Billings, MT.

PAY

$75,100 - $120,200 / year

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in both a professional office environment, customer sites and outdoor construction job sites. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, etc. The employee occasionally works around moving mechanical parts. Noise level may be loud at times.
