8:00pm-6:30am/Monday-Thursday, 4x10 schedule

What you’ll be doing:

As a Maintenance Technician 3, you will perform preventative and on-demand maintenance on electrical motors, material handling equipment, propane torches, man-lifts, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, grinders, electrical test equipment, ladders, lift equipment jacks, chargers, and batteries. You will also carry out general building and conveyor maintenance, light plumbing, carpentry, painting, and other tasks as needed. Additionally, you will assist and communicate directions from supervisors to other technicians and assistants.

You will utilize your technical knowledge of electrical, HVAC, energy management, hydraulics, material handling, and conveyor systems to ensure the smooth operation of our Fulfillment Center across all shifts.

This role is vital to the success of Staples Supply Chain as we deliver excellence to our customers.

What you bring to the table:
  • Mechanical aptitude, knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, pneumatics, and ability to read blueprints/schematics, including electrical schematics, to troubleshoot complex automated electrical control systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical/electronic issues and repair motor control and lighting systems, working with high voltages (up to 480VAC) and low voltage DC systems.
  • Experience using vendor manuals and procedures for preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to be trained and certified to operate power material handling equipment, such as forklifts and electric pallet jacks.
  • Strong collaboration skills to build relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Quick adoption of safety procedures and commitment to safe work practices.
  • Comfort working in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations.
Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related experience.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening, where permitted by law.
  • Basic verbal and written English skills.
  • Availability to work additional hours beyond scheduled shifts, including overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet or more.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull boxes weighing 70-100 pounds.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Trade school background.
