Job summary

High Liner Foods in Portsmouth, NH is seeking a skilled maintenance technician responsible for preventive maintenance on forklifts, batteries, and dock equipment, and for troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. You will coordinate with external vendors and keep maintenance records to support a safe, efficient warehouse operation.

A high school diploma and 5+ years of maintenance experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting are required.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
  • Experience servicing forklifts and industrial batteries.
  • Knowledge of dock doors, dock levelers, and warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Coordinate with external service providers for major repairs when required.
  • Maintain maintenance records and equipment service schedules.
  • Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot forklift batteries and charging systems.
  • Monitor battery watering, charging cycles, and overall battery health.
  • Ensure battery room safety procedures are followed and maintained.
  • Perform routine inspections of battery chargers and related electrical equipment.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair warehouse dock doors, dock levelers, seals, shelters, and restraints.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and operational issues.
  • Coordinate vendor repairs for specialized equipment when necessary.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections to ensure compliance and operational reliability.
  • Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular equipment inspections and identify safety concerns.
  • Participate in workplace safety programs and training.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and equipment standards.

Qualifications
Required
