Job summary

Core-Mark International in Illinois is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to keep our warehouse operations safe and efficient. You will perform repairs, routine maintenance, and inspections on facilities and equipment, ensuring readiness for production and compliant with industry standards.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of maintenance or related experience, and the stamina to lift up to 100 lbs.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 1+ year maintenance, mechanic repair, or related area.
• Physical ability to regularly lift up to 30 lbs, up to 65 lbs frequently, and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Warehouse environment tolerance for noise and temperature extremes.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, adjustments, and ongoing maintenance of facilities.
• Performs general electrical and/or repairs of equipment on company premises.
• Conduct periodic inspections to determine maintenance work required.
• Maintains all equipment necessary to perform work.
• Obtain work schedule and daily production paperwork and prepare for operations.
• Perform daily safety checks.
• Perform maintenance, repairs, and installations on various equipment within guidelines of processes and standards.
• Maintain, replace, build, adjust, and modify facilities, buildings, and grounds per schedule and emergencies.
• Perform general housekeeping and keep maintenance area orderly; secure equipment and complete reports at end of shift.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Purpose:

We value the safety of our associates! The Maintenance Mechanic keeps our associates safe by maintaining all equipment inside the warehouses/buildings and ensuring it meets industry standards and operates efficiently according to its specific tasks.

Primary Responsibilities:

• The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for repairs, adjustments, and ongoing maintenance of facilities.
• Performs general electrical and/or repairs of and various equipment on company premises.
• Conduct periodic inspections to determine maintenance work required.
• Maintains all equipment necessary to perform work.
• Obtains work schedule and daily production paperwork and prepare for operations.
• Performs daily safety checks.
• Performs maintenance, repairs, and installations on various equipment within guidelines of processes and standards.
• Maintains, replaces, builds, adjusts, and modifies the facilities, buildings, and the grounds according to a set schedule and in emergency and non-emergency situations.
• Performs general housekeeping duties and keep maintenance area orderly and clean as required. At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary reports and paperwork.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate should possess:

• Ability to work multiple tasks under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Compensation

Pay is $19.50 an hour
