Job summary

Hood Distribution in Milton, VT is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our warehouse team and oversee inbound/outbound logistics. The role reports to the Branch Manager and requires hands-on supervision of 2-3 warehouse staff and 2-3 drivers, with emphasis on inventory control and procedural discipline.

The ideal candidate has wood products or related industry experience, knowledge of safe fleet and warehouse operations, and proficiency with ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse operations, distribution, logistics in wood products or related field.
• Knowledge of safe fleet operations and warehouse operations is essential.
• Forklift operator/trainer certification is preferred but not required.
• Basic computer skills; ERP familiarity; MS Word/Excel preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall warehouse operations, including inbound inventory receiving, reporting, and driver schedules.
• Oversee maintenance and repairs on warehouse equipment and trucks; ensure DOT compliance.
• Coordinate intercompany inventory transfers and material processing; occasional coverage for Inside Sales.
• Provide supervision, coaching and training to center employees; promote safety-minded culture.
• Ensure drivers are properly licensed and trained and follow safe driving and loading/unloading practices.
