Job summary

Diamond Pet Foods is seeking a Warehouse Loader for night shift operations (6pm–6:25am). The role requires operating forklifts, loading orders, and maintaining damage-free products while following SOPs and safety protocols.

Responsibilities include driver check-in/out, FIFO inventory, and coordinating with production staff. Overtime is mandatory; PPE must be worn at all times in a loud, indoor environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse setting.
• Must hold a valid CA driver’s license.
• 3+ years continuous sit-down forklift experience.
• Successful completion of pre-employment screening (drug, background, physical).
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, climb ladders, and access forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to load finished product orders safely and efficiently.
• Follow SOPs for loading procedures, weight tickets, and load sheets.
• Ensure damage-free product and address damaged items promptly.
• Check in/out truck drivers professionally and efficiently.
• Support production staff and manage FIFO inventory.
• Stage pallets for shipments and communicate statuses to staff.
• Conduct daily inspections of loading dock equipment and trailer gear.
• Adhere to GMP, HACCP, and safety PPE requirements.

Job description

JOB SCOPE:

The Warehouse Loader is to be proficient in accurately organizing and loading finished product orders, damage free, with forklifts and trailer spotting equipment. Loaders are responsible for performing routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting concerns.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is primarily performed indoors near operating equipment, loud noises, and loose particles. Work performed requires employees to operate in all different temperatures and with extended standing and sitting time. Employees are required to wear a bump cap, hearing protection, safety shoes/boots, and safety glasses at all times.

Work Environment: Graveyard Schedule 6pm - 6:25am 12hr Shifts (Alternative Work Schedule & Weekends)

Training will be on days Mon - Fri then moved to nights

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understand and perform various loading procedures for all types of shipments and materials.
• Follow protocols for using and operating IFS scanners, filling out load sheets, weight tickets, etc.
• Ensure to load only damage-free product, providing the best of quality to our customers, while addressing any damaged product.
• Check truck drivers in and out of the facility in a professional and efficient manner.
• Support and assist production staff as needed.
• Practice First-In-First-Out finished product, inventory management system.
• Stage mixed and partial pallets for upcoming shipments and communicate statuses to staff.
• Perform daily inspections on loading dock equipment and trailer spotting equipment.
• Understand and comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), GMP's, and HACCP.
• Working overtime is MANDATORY and requires full participation.
• Keep work area clean and maintain assigned portion of master sanitation schedule.
• Report all safety violations to the supervisor immediately and follow all safety protocols and procedures, as well as always wearing required PPE.
• Other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by the supervisor to be accepted with a positive and professional attitude.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working in a warehouse setting environment
• Must hold a valid CA driver's license.
• 3YRS + Continuous Sit-Down Forklift Experience

• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, easily get on and off forklifts, and climb ladders.
