Stanley Black & Decker in Decorah, IA is seeking a Warehouse Lead on 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 3pm–11pm). You will assist the supervisor, train staff, and ensure on-time shipments while serving as the main contact for customers at the Decorah facility.

What You’ll Do

As a Warehouse Lead person – Shipping, Package, Sort, Bag you’ll be part of our Decorah Operations team located in Decorah, IA you’ll get to:

  • Assist the Warehouse Supervisor in the efficient operation of the day-to-day functions of the warehouse.
  • Direct, train and assist warehouse employees ensuring all shipments to customers are made on time.

Supervisory Assistance
  • Ensures compliance with company safety and housekeeping requirements.
  • Communicates and reviews performance requirements with employees.
  • Assists Warehouse supervisor in the development of employees.
  • Provides required training to ensure appropriate skill levels of warehouse employees.
  • Monitor productivity and quality of work performed by warehouse employees.
  • Assist supervisor in maintaining department budget and future planning needs.
  • Provide coaching of employees and monitors the performance of their responsibilities Assist supervisors with department work schedules and assign tasks to employees based upon customer needs.
  • Assist supervisor with analyzing and documenting new employee training checklists ensuring that employees meet basic training requirements.
  • Assist supervisor in assessing employee performance by providing appropriate feedback and by participating in disciplinary matters.
  • Facilitate effective communication on all shifts and assure information flow exists.
Attendance
  • Follow the Company’s attendance policy.
  • Start work when the shift begins.
  • Follow Company’s overtime policy.
Safety/Housekeeping
  • Follow all company safety procedures and report any potential safety issues to the Supervisor.
  • Keep the work area neat and orderly and supports 5S activities.
Productivity
  • Report maintenance problems to Supervisor.
  • Investigate maintenance problems.
  • Procure estimates for the repair.
  • Schedule maintenance with Supervisor’s permission.
  • Complete paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Insure employees in department are working productively throughout shift.
  • Coordinate shipments with freight vendors.
  • Act as liaison between warehouse and customer service area.
  • Actively promotes Company policies and procedures.
Quality
  • Train warehouse personnel ensuring all employees fully understand job duties and responsibilities.
  • Ensure that shipping paperwork is properly and accurately completed by Shipping Clerks.
  • Make certain the Procedure’s Manual is being followed.
  • Report quality concerns promptly to necessary personnel.
  • Make sure special customer-driven expectations are met.
  • Accuracy of order entry and billing.
Teamwork
  • Communicate and cooperates with Supervisor and co‑workers.
  • Accept all job assignments and assist co‑workers as needed.
  • Attend team meetings and follow team guidelines.
  • Work closely with Shipping personnel to meet company service level.
  • Assist in the training of new employees.
  • Perform duties as requested by the Supervisor.

Must be available to work overtime as needed.
