You will operate bagging equipment, ensuring accurate labels and timely shipments while maintaining a safe, efficient production line. The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, mechanical aptitude, basic math skills, and knowledge of manufacturing systems.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic math skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of IATF16949 and ISO14001 requirements is preferred.
  • Basic personal computer operation is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all bagging equipment and ensure proper bag labels meet customer specifications.
  • Maintain safe and clean work area and follow all safety procedures.
  • Complete paperwork in a timely manner and assist maintenance as needed.
  • Support production goals by setting up and running machines to full capability.
  • Coordinate with supervisor to ensure timely shipments.

What You’ll Do: As a Bag Operator, you will be part of our Decorah Operations team located in Decorah, IA. You’ll get to:
JOB KNOWLEDGE:

  • Thorough knowledge of all bagging equipment.
  • Basic personal computer knowledge.
  • Knowledge of bag styles.
  • Knowledge of customer driven specifications.
  • Print and service order knowledge.
  • Basic parts identification knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing and Shipping Systems
  • Material handling equipment.
  • Ability to create bag labels that meet the requirements of our customers.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
JUDGEMENT
  • Prioritize activities to maximize efficiency.
  • Recognize the acceptable quality level of product.
  • Recognize unsafe conditions or act and report to supervisor immediately.
  • Recognize maintenance problems with minimal assistance.
  • Recognize acceptable supply inventory.
  • Ability to recognize situations requiring inventory adjustments on the manufacturing system.
TEAMWORK:
  • Communicates and cooperates with co-workers.
  • Accepts job assignments and assists co-workers as needed.
  • Facilitates the product that flows into and out of the area, so we make timely shipments.
SAFETY/HOUSEKEEPING:
  • Follows all company safety procedures and reports any safety hazards or violations to lead person or supervisor.
  • Ensures machines and work area are neat and orderly.
PRODUCTIVITY:
  • Makes minor repairs and assists Maintenance department with major repairs.
  • Completes paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Sets up and runs machines to full capability.
  • Assists in other areas as required.
  • Maintains customer requirement data on the labels and bags.
Performs duties as requested by the Supervisor or lead person.
Must be available to work overtime.
