East Penn Manufacturing Company, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Warehouse Lead for our Birmingham, Alabama warehouse. The role supports the Warehouse Manager in daily operations, with attention to shipping/receiving, inventory control, and material handling.

A CDL‑B license is preferred, and forklift experience is required. Starting hourly wage ranges from $24.25 to $26.40, with potential bonuses based on performance.

Qualifications

• Must be highly motivated with good communication and computer skills.
• Supervisory experience is preferred as this position assists the Warehouse Manager.
• Training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Support Warehouse Manager in day-to-day operations, including shipping/receiving, inventory, and material handling.
• Pull orders, load/unload trucks, and prepare batteries for customers.
• Deliver and pick up freight from customer locations; backup driver for CDL-B capable role.
• May require overtime; forklift experience required on stand-up and sit-down models.

Responsibilities

Warehouse Lead will assist the Warehouse Manager in day to day operations with responsibilities including shipping/receiving, inventory, and material handling duties.

• Our Material Handlers are responsible for pulling (physical lifting) orders, loading and unloading of trucks, load batteries for customers and may make occasional non‑CDL deliveries.
• Delivers and picks up freight from specified customer locations, such as warehouses, retail stores, dealerships, and small businesses.
• Leader with CDL‑B will act as a Backup Driver, driving a diesel or gasoline powered straight van with a gross vehicle weight rating of up to 33,000 GVW.
• Must be highly motivated and have good communication skills.
• Candidate may be requested to work overtime.
• Forklift experience required on both stand up and sit down forklifts.

Qualifications

Candidates must be highly motivated with good communication and computer skills, and be able to work with others. Shipping/Receiving, inventory, and experience driving box trucks are all preferred but not required, as training will be provided. Supervisory experience is also preferred, as this position will assist the Warehouse Manager in day to day operations.
