Job summary

Graybar is hiring a Warehouse Leader to guide branch warehouse operations including logistics, inventory, safety, and equipment utilization. The role involves leading activities from loading to transportation and ensuring customer service goals are met.

You'll oversee incoming and outgoing shipments, maintain security and cycle counts, and ensure DOT and hazardous materials shipping compliance. Strong leadership, safety focus, and SAP knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 70 lbs.
• Experience supervising a team in a warehouse setting preferred.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations and safety procedures.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with SAP or similar systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead activities of employees loading, unloading, picking, packing, shipping, and receiving merchandise.
• Oversee shipment activity to ensure accurate, timely customer service goals.
• Perform physical duties required to move inventory within the warehouse.
• Operate and maneuver warehouse equipment safely per manufacturer instructions.
• Keep the warehouse orderly and compliant with safety procedures and inspections.
• Maintain security and prevent loss; manage daily cycle counts.
• Determine truck routing and load limits; direct movement from dock to storage.
• Prepare bills of lading and document unfilled orders and shipping charges.
• Ensure DOT regulations and hazardous material shipping procedures are followed.

As a Warehouse Leader, you will lead assigned areas of Branch warehouse operations including logistics processes, inventory management, security, safety, housekeeping, equipment utilization, business system applications and all other functions designed to meet or exceed branch customer service standards.

Work Shift And Hours

• Monday - Friday, 5:00am - 2:00pm

Compensation Details

• The expected pay rate for this position is starting at $25.00 per hour depending on experience.

In This Role You Will

• Lead activities of employees engaged in loading unloading, selecting, packing, shipping, receiving and transportation of merchandise
• Supervise incoming and outgoing shipment activity; ensure efficient, accurate and timely customer service to ensure service goals are attained
• Perform any and all physical requirements necessary to lift and move inventory around the warehouse
• Operate and maneuver warehouse equipment and any material(s) contained thereon in the manner consistent with the intended purpose of the equipment and manufacturer instructions
• Maintain the warehouse in an orderly and clean state; follow all Company safety procedures; perform daily safety inspections
• Maintain security of merchandise and equipment and ensure safe working conditions; responsible for all warehouse loss prevention programs; responsible for the accuracy of the daily cycle counts
• Determine routing and legal load limits of trucks, inspect loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications and direct movement of shipments from shipping and receiving dock to storage and work area
• Compile records of unfilled orders, post weight and shipping charges and prepare bills of lading
• Ensure all warehouse procedures are followed, including Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and hazardous material shipping; participate in, or may lead, Warehouse Steering Committee

What You Bring To The Table

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to perform the physical requirements necessary to receive, pick, pack, ship, and move materials throughout the warehouse, including, but not limited to, standing, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, climbing ladders, cutting wire and lifting materials weighing up to 70 pounds
• Ability to operate and maneuver warehouse equipment, including, but not limited to, pallet jacks, forklifts and push carts, in the manner necessary to move materials and consistent with manufacturer instructions and safety instructions
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment, including the ability to perform physical requirements, adapt to seasonal changes, significant temperature variations and inclement weather conditions
• Ability to abide by safety instruction and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) or its equivalent is required
• Knowledge of warehouse layouts, operations and procedures
• Knowledge of computers and SAP
• Leadership and organizational skills
• Mathematical, oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work under close supervision
