Job summary

Metropolitan Warehouse & Delivery in Houston is seeking a Warehouse Lead to supervise labor, train staff, ensure accurate labeling, and manage shipping/receiving under the Warehouse Manager. You will oversee day-to-day operations, enforce scan discipline, and safely operate equipment like forklift, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, while ensuring on-time delivery and inventory accuracy.

A background in furniture handling and the ability to work extended hours or weekends as needed are preferred;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year minimum of previous warehouse supervisory/lead experience desired.
• Experience working with furniture preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate warehouse labor activities to ensure high production levels.
• Provide training to new warehouse associates to Metropolitan’s standards.
• Check and ensure labeling is correct.
• Follow all paperwork processes through completion.
• Maintain accurate warehouse inventory and report aging items.
• Enforce scan discipline and guidelines for all items.
• Provide quality control and training for repackaging to prevent damage.
• Follow directions from Warehouse/Hub Manager and complete tasks.
• Safely operate forklift, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Support start/end of day tasks and daily operations.
• Assist Warehouse/Hub Manager with day-to-day tasks as needed.
• Assume Warehouse Manager responsibilities in their absence.
