The Position
We are seeking a Warehouse Shipping Lead to oversee the Indirect shipping team, manage pick, pack, and ship processes, and serve as the primary contact for account managers in the distribution center. The role involves troubleshooting orders, ensuring timely shipments, and supporting customer satisfaction. Reports to the Distribution Center Manager.

Responsibilities

  1. Support departmental vision, policies, and goals.
  2. Communicate regularly with team members to align with corporate initiatives.
  3. Check in trucks for unloading and loading large volumes of materials.
  4. Assist in determining production methods and labor levels to meet service standards.
  5. Ensure the timely and accurate shipment of goods.
  6. Prioritize sales orders to meet SLAs or exceptions.
  7. Optimize outgoing freight to minimize costs while meeting customer demand.
  8. Lead by example to foster a positive work environment.
  9. Train and develop team members, ensuring policy compliance and KPI achievement.
  10. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Qualifications

Education / Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of warehouse leadership experience with multiple direct reports.
  • Lean or operational excellence experience is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license.

General Skills:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative with various departments.
  • Knowledge of Hazmat shipping and DOT requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with warehouse management systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of inventory systems and processes.
  • Forklift certification required.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, kneel, sit, and climb stairs.
  • Steel toe shoes and safety glasses required.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
