Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Operate a lift truck by driving backwards and twisting to look in the direction of travel continually.
- Operate a lift truck throughout the shift.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment, such as cleaning or recharging batteries, and refer defects or repairs to supervisor/maintenance.
- Move controls to drive battery-powered lift trucks and transport materials between loading, unloading, processing, and storage areas.
- Operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams, swivel-hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, and stack materials.
- Position lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, and boxes, and secure materials for transport.
- Manually load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, or lifting devices.
- Maintain reliable attendance at scheduled shifts.
- Perform all duties in accordance with safety and security standards.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
Unloader
- Unload products from inbound carriers (trucks and rail cars).
- Verify that received products are correctly identified and counted.
- Inspect the condition of all received products.
- Move and store products securely in designated locations.
Preloader
- Read and interpret preload orders.
- Pick products accurately from storage and stage them according to stacking guidelines.
- Load trucks efficiently, arranging products to maximize trailer space.
- Use scanning devices and computers as needed.
- Check for shortages, over-counts, and incorrect model numbers, and correct issues where possible.
Truck Loaders
- Inspect trailers before loading.
- Count units and compare with shipping documents.
- Load products into trailers according to guidelines, securing loads properly for travel.

Skills & Abilities
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- One to two years of related experience.
- Basic computer skills, including scanner technology.
- Valid State Driver’s License; forklift certification preferred.
