Job summary

Givens Packing & Crating in Chesapeake, VA seeks a Warehouse Lead to support the Warehouse Supervisor with shipping, receiving, inventory accuracy and forklift operation. You will help lead staff to meet customer and company goals while upholding safety and quality.

Responsibilities include scheduling per shift, using WMS data to improve efficiency, maintaining shipping documents, training new associates, and occasionally stepping in as acting supervisor.

Qualifications

• Two+ years warehousing experience
• Previous leadership experience in a warehousing environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Preferred WMS, RF technology experience
• SAP is a plus

Responsibilities

• Plan staffing needs by communicating with the supervisor to align headcount to labor needs for the day, ideally for the next shift
• Use WMS data to improve operational efficiency and troubleshoot problems
• Maintain documentation in line with shipping and receiving SOPs (vendor/driver logs, receiving documents, bills of lading)
• Provide feedback to the supervisor regarding performance of subordinates
• Assist supervisor in training and development of new associates
• Responsible for opening or closing the facility daily
• Maintain professional communication with associates, offices, and customers
• Perform the duties of supervisor on a limited basis
