Job summary

RJ Schinner Co. is seeking a Warehouse Lead for the 2nd shift at our Port Wentworth distribution center.

This hands-on role works alongside the order selecting team and ensures procedures and safety disciplines are followed, in close partnership with the shift Supervisor and Warehouse Manager. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of warehouse and forklift experience, strong interpersonal skills, and a high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Maintains shipping records such as returned merchandise, damage, discrepancies, etc.
• Responsible for care in handling merchandise
• Establish rapport with customers, vendors, and delivery drivers
• Perform operations and safety checks on all powered industrial trucks
• Recommend equipment needs and repairs
• Verify inventory levels with system cycle counts
• Transport merchandise from inbound receipts to locations
• Replenish warehouse pick locations to capacity
• Load outbound carriers
• Observe and document safety procedures and accidents

Distribution Warehouse Lead Summary

Full-time, Sunday-Thursday | 2 nd Shift, 4:00 pm – 12:30 am or until completion

This a hands-on Lead works alongside the warehouse order selecting team, and ensures proper procedures and disciplines are being followed or documented. The Warehouse Lead works closely with our shift Supervisor and our Warehouse Manager.

Distribution Warehouse Lead Qualifications

• 2 years minimum previous warehouse experience
• 2 years minimum previous forklift experience
• Strong interpersonal skills
• High degree of attention to detail required
• Able to perform light to heavy physical tasks; able to lift 50 lbs. safely
• Able to proficiently operate a variety of powered industrial trucks
• Must be dependable, reliable, and use equipment safely and sensibly
• Must be comfortable with exposure to environmental conditions (e.g., heat/cold, noise and dust)
• Must be comfortable with heights

Warehouse Lead Responsibilities

• Maintains other shipping records such as returned merchandise, damage, discrepancies, etc.
• Responsible for care in handling merchandise
• Establish an appropriate rapport with customers, vendors, and delivery drivers
• Responsible for performing operations and safety check, (including battery, brakes & lift controls), on all powered industrial trucks
• Recommend equipment needs and repairs
• Verify inventory levels with system cycle counts against physical counts
• Transport merchandise from daily inbound receipts to appropriate locations
• Replenish warehouse pick locations to capacity
• Load outbound carriers
• Observe and comply with all workplace safety procedures and measures, including immediately documenting any unsafe acts, conditions, or accidents
