Job summary

RJ Schinner Co. is hiring a Warehouse Lead for the 2nd shift in Port Wentworth, GA. The role operates Sunday-Thursday, 4:00 pm–12:30 am (or until completion) and works with the order selecting team under supervision to ensure proper procedures are followed.

The candidate should have at least 2 years of warehouse and forklift experience, strong interpersonal skills, and a solid safety mindset. Proficiency with powered industrial trucks and a willingness to lift up to 50 lbs is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain shipping records such as returns, damage, discrepancies.
• Care for merchandise and proper handling.
• Establish rapport with customers, vendors, and drivers.
• Perform safety checks on powered trucks and battery systems.
• Recommend equipment needs and repairs.
• Verify inventory levels with system counts against physicals.
• Transport merchandise from inbound receipts to locations.
• Replenish pick locations as needed.
• Load outbound carriers and ensure safety procedures.

Distribution Warehouse Lead Summary

Full-time, Sunday-Thursday | 2 nd Shift, 4:00 pm – 12:30 am or until completion

This a hands-on Lead works alongside the warehouse order selecting team, and ensures proper procedures and disciplines are being followed or documented. The Warehouse Lead works closely with our shift Supervisor and our Warehouse Manager.

Distribution Warehouse Lead Qualifications

• 2 years minimum previous warehouse experience
• 2 years minimum previous forklift experience
• Strong interpersonal skills
• High degree of attention to detail required
• Able to perform light to heavy physical tasks; able to lift 50 lbs. safely
• Able to proficiently operate a variety of powered industrial trucks
• Must be dependable, reliable, and use equipment safely and sensibly
• Must be comfortable with exposure to environmental conditions (e.g., heat/cold, noise and dust)
• Must be comfortable with heights

Warehouse Lead Responsibilities

• Maintains other shipping records such as returned merchandise, damage, discrepancies, etc.
• Responsible for care in handling merchandise
• Establish an appropriate rapport with customers, vendors, and delivery drivers
• Responsible for performing operations and safety check, (including battery, brakes & lift controls), on all powered industrial trucks
• Recommend equipment needs and repairs
• Verify inventory levels with system cycle counts against physical counts
• Transport merchandise from daily inbound receipts to appropriate locations
• Replenish warehouse pick locations to capacity
• Load outbound carriers
• Observe and comply with all workplace safety procedures and measures, including immediately documenting any unsafe acts, conditions, or accidents
