Job summary

Barrett Distribution Centers is seeking a Warehouse Lead in Olive Branch, MS. The role reports to the Supervisor/Assistant Operations Manager and coordinates daily warehousing activities, training staff, and communicating job expectations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience with powered industrial equipment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and policies/procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with WMS.
• Ability to read/write English; bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production activity for the assigned area, ensuring targets and safety standards are met.
• Train employees and temporary staff on standard operating procedures.
• Provide guidance and direction to associates; assume supervisor responsibilities in their absence.
• Maintain accurate inventories and keep the warehouse neat, secure, and organized.
• Recommend and implement process improvements for assigned areas.
• Lead startup meetings for assigned areas and perform other duties as assigned.

The Position:

The Warehouse Lead, reporting to the Supervisor/Assistant Operations Manager, will assist in coordinating all daily warehousing activities for assigned areas. This position will be responsible for assisting the Warehouse Supervisor with training, assigning, scheduling, and communicating job expectations.

This position works 7:00am- 3:45pm, Monday- Friday.

The compensation for this position is $20.50/hour.

How You'll Make an Impact:

• Oversee daily production activity for assigned area, ensuring all targets and safety standards are met
• Provide guidance and direction to associates on day-to-day workflow; assume supervisor responsibilities in their absence
• Train employees and temporary staff on standard operating procedures
• Communicate customer concerns and operational issues to direct supervisor/manager in a timely manner
• Assist with maintaining accurate physical inventories and ensure the warehouse remains neat, secure, and organized
• Recommend and implement process improvements for assigned operational areas
• Lead or participate in startup meetings for assigned areas of responsibility
• Perform warehouse associate duties as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Qualification:

• High school diploma/GED strongly preferred
• Powered industrial equipment experience preferred
• Experience must demonstrate a strong working knowledge of warehouse operations and policies and procedures.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft business applications such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and warehouse management systems preferred.
• Experience must demonstrate the ability to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines. Strong emphasis on organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English (Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred).
• Must be able to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
