Job description

In this role, candidate will lead the warehouse’s shipping team in efficiency, stocking and storage strategy, inventory management, and related strategic warehousing efforts. She/he will be responsible for coordinating some operational activities within the shipping unit and will work closely with unit’s supervisor on some performance management efforts. The hours for this position will be Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30pm and other hours as needed.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform warehouse functions including, picking, staging and loading customer as well as inbound receiving activities
  • Conduct quality audits on outbound loads and takes corrective actions when required
  • Ensures that customer orders are shipped on time and all customer requirements are met
  • Provides warehouse employee training when required
  • Utilize team and resources to manage loading/unloading of trucks
  • Accurately completes required paperwork
  • Observes plant safety rules. Assists in identifying and eliminating safety hazards and or concerns. Ensure team is adhering to organizational safety protocols
  • Periodically report to supervisor on team and individual work accomplishments, progress and problems
  • Assist with physical inventory of raw materials or finished goods; ensure accuracy/adherence to inventory process
  • Carry out other duties to support daily operations as needed
  • Performs all necessary duties to support Supervisor when needed
  • Performs all job duties in a timely and efficient manner
  • Contributes to Plant cost reduction
Position Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Successful candidate must be positive, open-minded, have strong leadership skills, and be able to display outstanding customer service
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and change, or adapt to work practices based on changing work demands
  • She/he will possess very strong communication skills and an ability to establish effective working relationships with persons at all levels of the organization (written and verbal)
  • Safety must be of high importance and a priority to the candidate
  • Must be very analytical with commitment to accuracy, quality, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
  • Time management, efficiency and an ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure are imperative skills for success in this role
  • Must have extensive forklift experience in a warehouse/distribution facility
Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 years relevant work experience preferred
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
  • Standing/walking for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry approximately 50 pounds
  • Ability to work overtime and occasionally on weekends with short notice
