Job summary

Barrett Distribution Centers in Byhalia, Mississippi is seeking a Warehouse Lead to coordinate daily warehousing activities and assist the Supervisor with training, scheduling, and communication of job expectations. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:45pm, with compensation of $20.50 per hour.

You will oversee daily production in your area, guide associates, train staff on SOPs, maintain inventories, and help implement process improvements while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED strongly preferred.
• Powered industrial equipment experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and policies and procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint; WMS experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English; bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production activity for the assigned area.
• Provide guidance and direction to associates on day-to-day workflow; assume supervisor responsibilities in their absence.
• Train employees and temporary staff on standard operating procedures.
• Communicate customer concerns and operational issues to direct supervisor/manager in a timely manner.
• Assist with maintaining accurate physical inventories and ensure the warehouse remains neat, secure, and organized.
• Recommend and implement process improvements for assigned operational areas.
• Lead or participate in startup meetings for assigned areas of responsibility.
• Perform warehouse associate duties as needed.

The Position:

The Warehouse Lead, reporting to the Supervisor/Assistant Operations Manager, will assist in coordinating all daily warehousing activities for assigned areas. This position will be responsible for assisting the Warehouse Supervisor with training, assigning, scheduling, and communicating job expectations.

This position works 7:00am- 3:45pm, Monday- Friday.

The compensation for this position is $20.50/hour.

Qualification:

• High school diploma/GED strongly preferred
• Powered industrial equipment experience preferred
• Experience must demonstrate a strong working knowledge of warehouse operations and policies and procedures.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft business applications such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and warehouse management systems preferred.
• Experience must demonstrate the ability to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines. Strong emphasis on organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English (Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred).
• Must be able to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
