Job summary

Novolex seeks a Warehouse Shipping & Receiving Lead in Franklin, OH to supervise dock operations and coordinate shipping/receiving activities. This role acts as the department SME, drives inventory accuracy, and leads safety, training and improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities include scheduling with the Load Planner, maintaining documentation, and ensuring proper procedures for outbound goods, transfers, and stock. Flexibility for overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
  • 3+ years in shipping, receiving, warehouse, distribution or logistics.
  • Experience in lead, coordinator, or supervisory roles preferred.
  • Knowledge of shipping/receiving processes, inventory control, dock operations.
  • Ability to operate forklifts; current certification preferred or obtainable.
  • Experience with SAP, WMS or ERP; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read/write English clearly; flexible schedule incl. overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties of a Shift Lead in shipping/receiving and supervise teams.
  • Ensure dock safety procedures are followed.
  • Manage training program and track effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Load Planner for efficient dock scheduling.
  • Ensure proper procedures for outbound goods, transfers, and stock.
  • Receive outsourced window blanks into SAP and ensure timely material pickup.
  • Maintain accurate Open Dock status and efficient driver check-in/out.
  • Order supplies as needed and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.

Job Description

Warehouse Shipping & Receiving Lead

Franklin, OH

Compensation Includes

  • Starting pay rate of $24.17/hour
    • Shift differential pay of $0.75/hour

Available Shift

  • 3rd: 11pm - 7am

Overview

The Shipping Department Lead partners with Shift Leads to ensure the safe, efficient, and accurate execution of all shipping and receiving operations. This position serves as the department's subject matter expert and primary point of contact for resolving operational issues, coordinating daily dock activities, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The Shipping Department Lead plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and leading department employees to achieve operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Able to perform all the job duties of a Shift Lead in the areas of shipping and receiving, assigning work to their teams, as well as required paperwork and tasks
  • Ensures that all dock safety procedures are being followed
  • Manages the training program, ensuring that training is effective and tracked
  • Work with the Load Planner to ensure efficient dock scheduling
  • Ensure that shift teams follow dock schedules
  • Ensure that department personnel are following proper procedures to maintain the accuracy of all shipping and receiving operations, including outbound finished goods, blank transfers, and roll shipments, along with deliveries of roll stock, shippers, outsourced window blanks, pallets and sundry items
  • Receives outsourced window blanks into SAP
  • Ensures that received material is picked up from staging areas by responsible parties
  • Ensure that Shift Leads are updating Open Dock with accurate status
  • Ensure that drivers are being checked in and out professionally and efficiently
  • Order supplies as needed such as airbags and trailer seals
  • Timely resolution of any discovered inventory discrepancies in finished goods or blanks
  • Ensures that all office files and required documentation are maintained as required

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, distribution, or logistics operations
  • Previous experience in a lead, coordinator, or supervisory role preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of shipping and receiving processes, inventory control practices, dock operations, and warehouse workflows
  • Ability to safely operate powered industrial equipment, including forklifts; current forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain certification upon hire
  • Experience loading, unloading, staging, and transporting materials using forklifts and other material handling equipment
  • Working knowledge of SAP, warehouse management systems (WMS), or similar ERP systems; SAP experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Physically capable of prolonged standing and full‑range movement (bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, reaching)
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English sufficiently to perform job duties safely and accurately
  • Flexible schedule, including potential overtime, weekend work, or call‑ins based on production needs
