Responsibilities

• Lead daily warehouse operations and participate in picking, packing, stocking, and fulfillment.
• Operate forklifts and handling equipment to move, load, and organize inventory.
• Coordinate and support two warehouse team members for efficient daily ops.
• Oversee incoming shipments, verify receiving docs, and maintain inventory records.
• Perform cycle counts and inventory quality checks to ensure stock accuracy.
• Coordinate with sales reps and drivers to ensure timely order fulfillment.
• Load trucks, verify outgoing shipments, and resolve discrepancies.
• Process orders, purchase orders, transfers, and daily invoices using WMS.
• Maintain a clean, safe warehouse per OSHA and DOT standards.
• Assist with scheduling, timekeeping, training, and operational docs.
• Support customer service needs and resolve warehouse issues.
• Ensure daily responsibilities are completed accurately and efficiently.

Job description

Position Title: Warehouse Lead - Columbia, SC Location

We are seeking a hands-on Warehouse Lead to oversee daily warehouse operations at an established distribution facility in Columbia, South Carolina. This role combines physical warehouse responsibilities with team leadership, including order fulfillment, inventory management, forklift operation, shipping, receiving, and coordination with sales representatives and delivery drivers. Approximately 80% of the position involves hands-on warehouse work, while 20% focuses on administrative and operational oversight.

The ideal candidate is a dependable, forklift-certified warehouse professional with strong leadership skills, a commitment to safety, and a willingness to work alongside their team. This individual thrives in a fast-paced distribution environment, takes ownership of daily operations, and understands that effective leadership starts by setting the example.

Pay Range: $25 - $30 / hour, DOE

Responsibilities

• Lead daily warehouse operations while actively participating in order picking, packing, stocking, and fulfillment
• Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment to safely move, load, and organize inventory
• Coordinate and support two warehouse team members to ensure efficient daily operations
• Oversee incoming shipments, verify receiving documentation, and maintain accurate inventory records
• Perform cycle counts, inventory quality checks, and replenishment activities to maintain stock accuracy
• Coordinate with sales representatives and delivery drivers to ensure timely, accurate order fulfillment
• Load delivery trucks, verify outgoing shipments, and resolve shipping or receiving discrepancies
• Process order entries, vendor purchase orders, transfers, and daily invoices using warehouse management systems
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment while following applicable OSHA and DOT safety standards
• Assist with employee scheduling, timekeeping, training, and operational documentation
• Support customer service needs and resolve warehouse-related issues professionally
• Ensure daily warehouse responsibilities are completed accurately and efficiently

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of warehouse operations, distribution, or related experience
• Current forklift certification and ability to operate a forklift immediately
• Proven experience with order fulfillment, inventory management, stocking, shipping, and receiving
• Ability and willingness to perform physically demanding warehouse duties throughout the workday
• Ability to safely handle material loads weighing up to 150 pounds with appropriate lifting and handling equipment
• Experience leading, training, or coordinating warehouse personnel
• Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and material-handling practices
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to coordinate effectively with warehouse staff, drivers, sales representatives, and customers
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management and order processing
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations
• Flexibility to work Monday through Friday, beginning around 6:00 a.m., and remain until daily operations are completed
• Experience with Eclipse ERP or similar warehouse management systems preferred
• Experience with delivery routing, inventory cycle counts, or OSHA safety certifications is a plus
• Reliable work ethic, sound judgment, and a leadership style centered on accountability and teamwork
