Job summary

Jel Sert Company is seeking a relief worker to support the supervisor by acting as a communication link between supervisors and staff, while upholding safety and quality standards on the production line. This role covers relief shifts across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts and requires alertness to maintain smooth operations.

Responsibilities include enforcing safety procedures, directing the workforce, supplying materials, training staff, and promptly addressing safety and quality issues to sustain

Qualifications

• Good motor skills and hand-eye coordination; ability to identify quality problems.
• Effective communication with all levels; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Leadership skills; department experience preferred but not required.

• Monitor CCPs and QCCPs as applicable.
• Follow procedures and monitor quality control points.

• To assist the supervisor by acting as a pipeline between the supervisor and employees, maintain safety and quality standards, and fill in as a relief worker.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Conform to Jel Sert safety procedures, GMP requirements, and work instructions.
• Direct the workforce and ensure product quality and work standards are being fulfilled.
• Supply workers with necessary materials and ensure correct materials are present.
• Training of existing staff and new employees.
• Ensure employees are in position on time after breaks and lunch, and at start-up.
• Relieve staff as necessary.
• Identify safety and quality issues.
• Perform other similar work as required.

FOOD SAFETY/QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow applicable work procedures and instructions; monitor critical control points (CCPs) and quality control points (QCPs). If applicable. Monitor quality critical control points (QCCP'S).

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

• Good motor skills and hand-eye coordination, effective communication with all levels of personnel, basic math skills, and the ability to identify quality problems. Proficient in all department positions, communicate effectively in both English and Spanish, leadership skills. Previous experience within the department preferred, but not required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Manufacturing/Distribution and fast-paced environment, a full range of motion is required (reaching and lifting), lifting up to 15 lbs., standing for the duration of a shift (8 or more hours), continuous work, possible exposure to various odors and powder dust, and working independently.
