Job summary

Kenco Group in Wisconsin is seeking a Warehouse Lead to coach and guide warehouse teams, train on forklift operation, and ensure safe, efficient distribution across shipping, receiving, and inventory processes.

The role includes backing up supervisors, completing paperwork, conducting safety and quality inspections, participating in cycle counts, and supporting compliance with SQFI and FDA requirements while enabling career growth.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years warehouse/distribution operations experience.
  • 6 months leadership or supervisory experience in a distribution environment.
  • Must be a licensed forklift operator or able to obtain a Forklift Operator license.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and lead warehouse associates.
  • Train teammates in daily tasks and safety certifications (PIT).
  • Operate powered industrial equipment for material movement.
  • Complete shipping/tracking paperwork per SOPs and regulatory agencies.
  • Participate in inventory/cycle counts and report variances.
  • Perform daily forklift safety inspections and ensure SQFI/FDA readiness.
  • Report incidents to supervisor and ensure proper product rotation.
  • Review daily production reports and back up other warehouse roles.

About the Position

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for coaching and leading warehouse associates. The Lead trains teammates to fulfill their daily tasks in addition to the Lead’s own responsibilities. The Lead may have various duties depending on the department, including shipping/receiving, packaging, inventory control, general warehouse functions, or material handling operations such as forklift operation. The Lead provides backup to the supervisor as needed.

Functions
  • Train new warehouse associates and forklift drivers and conduct Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) and annual recertification training.
  • Conduct EIP, performance, and maintenance observations.
  • Safely operate powered industrial equipment to move products or materials for distribution such as clamp/slip sheet equipment; load, unload, and store materials/products in designated areas.
  • Complete applicable paperwork (e.g., shipping/tracking labels) per standard operating procedures and applicable regulatory agencies (e.g., DOT, IATA, IMDG).
  • Participate in inventory/cycle count activities as needed and report variances to leadership.
  • Perform daily safety inspections per the Safety Checklist on forklift trucks.
  • Ensure facility is inspection ready at all times for SQFI, FDA, and customer needs.
  • Communicate and report any incidents to supervisor.
  • Ensure product rotation procedures are followed.
  • Review and analyze daily production reports.
  • Serve as backup to other warehouse roles as needed.
  • Depending on specific department, other duties may apply.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred; able to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Minimum 2 years prior warehouse/distribution operations experience and 6 months experience related leadership or supervisory experience and/or training in a distribution environment.
  • Must be a licensed forklift operator or able to obtain a Forklift Operator license.
