Job summary

Venturi Supply seeks a Warehouse Lead to manage and develop the branch warehouse, pipe yard, and shop activities. You will oversee daily receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and order shipping while ensuring safety and accuracy.

You will train staff, enforce PPE, coordinate with the Branch Manager and Sales on deliveries, and drive continuous improvement in warehouse operations across the site. CDL/DOT preferred, strong team leadership required.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in warehouse distribution.
  • Current CDL and DOT certification preferred.
  • Proficient with MS Office 365.
  • Ability to effectively communicate written and verbal.
  • Thrives in a collaborative team environment.
  • Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs and exposure to outside weather.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and train branch warehouse staff.
  • Oversee daily receiving, stocking, picking, packing and delivery goals.
  • Audit deliveries to ensure accuracy and proper paperwork.
  • Coordinate with sales on shipments and schedules.
  • Assist drivers and plan delivery routes.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing on schedules and cycle counts.
  • Open/close branch daily and secure assets.
  • Provide warehouse staff training as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Role Overview

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for the management, training, and development of the assigned branch warehouse. This includes the branch pipe yard and pipe shop employees and activities. This includes daily operations processing, receiving, and shipping of customer orders.

Lead Responsibilities
  • Leads by setting a good example (role model) – behavior consistent with words.
  • Develops, trains, and directs employees in all aspects of the job, including on maintenance plan for all department equipment to always keep equipment in operating condition.
  • Facilitate problem solving and collaboration.
  • Strives for team consensus and win-win agreements.
  • Intervenes when necessary to aid the group in resolving issues.
  • Assure that the team members’ issues are resolved quickly to avoid delays or missing goals.

  • Communicates all department production flow and workload concerns to the manager to ensure the completion of all daily orders.
  • Ensure all employees in the department are wearing all required PPE during shift.
Responsibilities
  • Manages and provides daily direction, guidance, training and communication for all warehouse assigned employees in the branch.
  • Manages the warehouse team to ensure daily receiving, stocking, picking, packing and delivery goals are met.
  • Reviews and audits deliveries to ensure they are correctly pulled, packed, shipped and that the required paperwork is accurate and complete.
  • Communicates with the sales team regarding shipments, future delivery schedules, order statuses, etc.
  • Sorts tickets and works closely with Branch Manager on delivery routes.
  • Assists the Drivers, routes and any issues that arise during the delivery process.
  • Works closely with the Purchasing Manager on material delivery schedules, order statuses, cycle count processes, etc.
  • Assists with the opening and closing of the branch each day including locking gates, setting alarms, and securing company assets.
  • Assisting with training warehouse staff as needed.
  • Performs additional duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of experience in warehouse distribution.
  • Current CDL and DOT certification preferred.
  • Computer literate; Proficient with MS Office 365.
  • Ability to effectively communicate [written and verbal].

  • Detailed oriented work style comfortable with multiple priorities being juggled while maintaining a consistent work approach.
  • Physical requirements: sitting, standing, walking, lift to 50 lbs., carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling, enduring frequent exposure to outside weather conditions.
  • Ability to pass a background check, MVR check, and drug test.
