Job Description For Shippers

  • Support distribution center operations by efficiently sorting, scanning, staging and wrapping merchandise.
  • Ensure the product is loaded and checked in the proper delivery sequences so the customer receives the correct products at the right time. Sort cargo before loading and unloading by hand.
  • Attach identifying information to pallets to ensure driver's ease of delivery and good customer experience
  • Read and follow truck loading forecasts summaries
  • Examine shipment contents and compare with records to verify accuracy
  • Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders to route materials
  • Meet quality and production standards by ensuring customer receives the right product, in the right quantity and in the best condition
  • Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported
  • Communicate truck route changes with other departments as necessary
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by Supervisor
  • Lift and handle totes approximately weighing 50lbs TEAM LIFT OVER 50LBS
  • Take direction from the Supervisor for additional assignments or schedule changes
