Job summary

United States Cold Storage, Inc. is hiring a warehouse associate to prepare product for movement, pick orders, and load/unload trailers. The role requires operating pallet jacks, RF equipment, and forklifts with a focus on safe, accurate handling.

Typical shift is Mon–Fri, 12:00pm–8:30pm with overtime as needed; prior warehouse experience and ability to lift and stand for long periods are preferred. Training in the morning may be provided.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1 year warehouse experience preferred; 6 months with powered equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Unload/load trailers and verify stacking and pallets.
  • Use RF equipment and tape/stretch-wrap as required.
  • Help with inventory counting and cycle counts.
  • Pull and prepare orders for shipment with accurate lot numbers.
  • Operate forklift as needed and maintain safety SOPs.

Job description

The Job Details: Re sponsible for preparing product for movement, picking product, loading and unloading product into/out of trailers, checking product into an inventory system, stacking, counting product manually, and other warehouse-related duties by utilizing various material handling equipment including pallet jacks, RF equipment, and forklifts, among other equipment. Warehouse Labor is responsible for the safe and efficient use of this equipment to perform the duties of the position.

Salary Range: $23 - 24/hr Shift: Mon - Fri, 12pm - 8:30pm + OT as needed
  • Shipping and Receiving: Unload and load trailers and verify proper stacking and freight not being mixed on pallets, one item to a pallet as required unless instructed otherwise. Tape or stretch-wrap pallet as required to ensure product stability.
  • Over, Short, and Damage: Identify and recover any received or shipping damage consistent with Company policy. Report all shortages and overages to your area supervisor.
  • Inventory: If needed, assist in physical inventories with use of scanners. Ensure proper stock rotation by following lot number identification.
  • Order Picking: Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is located and shipped, make certain product comes from the proper locations and the lot numbers correspond to the picking documents. Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards. Pallets height can reach up to 7 feet.
  • Loading: Efficiently move product from the staging or storage areas into railcars or trailers.
  • Project work – including labeling and stacking cases
  • Forklift operations as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Communicate with supervision, especially in regards to problems or safety concerns.

The Job Specifics:

Location, Department and Work Hours: McClellan; Warehouse; Mon - Fri 12:00pm - 8:30pm + OT as needed (training in the morning)

What We Are Looking For:
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
Experience
  • 1 year experience in warehouse environment preferred
  • 6 months minimum experience with pallet jacks and related powered industrial equipment.
