Job summary

Fox Valley Fire & Safety is seeking a Warehouse Inventory Clerk to manage daily warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, forklift operation auditing, and maintaining a safe, organized warehouse environment to ensure the efficient flow of goods for over 170 field technicians.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, 2–4 years in warehouse operations, and UPS WorldShip experience.

• 2–4 years of experience in warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, or logistics.
• Experience in UPS shipping systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Order Fulfillment: support daily order fulfillment by accurately picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipment to over 170 field technicians.
• Shipping & Returns: manage outbound shipments through UPS, ensure accuracy and proper documentation.
• Warehouse Organization: maintain an organized, efficient warehouse to optimize storage and inventory control.
• Inventory Labeling & Organization: label, relabel, and organize inventory for accurate identification and picking.
• Receiving Operations: lead daily receiving activities, unload deliveries, verify quantities, inspect quality, document discrepancies.
• Equipment Operation & Safety: ensure safe operation of warehouse equipment including forklifts and complete daily inspections.
• Issue Resolution: collaborate with management to resolve discrepancies involving damaged goods or incorrect shipments.
• Process Improvement: identify opportunities to improve layouts, material flow and workflows.
• Cross-Functional Support: work with sales, purchasing, field service and other departments.

The Warehouse Inventory Clerk is responsible for managing daily warehouse activities, including receiving, shipping, forklift operation auditing, and maintaining a safe and organized warehouse environment. This role ensures the efficient flow of goods, adherence to safety standards, and accurate handling of materials for both inbound and outbound operations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Order Fulfillment: Support daily order fulfillment operations by accurately picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipment to more than 170 field technicians.


• Shipping & Returns: Manage outbound shipments through UPS, including standard parcel shipments and product returns, ensuring accuracy, timely processing, and proper documentation.


• Warehouse Organization: Maintain an organized, efficient, and accessible warehouse environment to optimize storage capacity, picking efficiency, and inventory control.


• Inventory Labeling & Organization: Label, relabel, and organize warehouse inventory to ensure accurate identification, proper storage, and efficient material picking.

Additional Responsibilities May Include:

• Receiving Operations: Lead daily receiving activities, including unloading deliveries, verifying quantities against purchase orders and packing lists, inspecting materials for quality, and documenting discrepancies.


• Equipment Operation & Safety: Ensure the safe and proper operation of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, by following established safety procedures and completing required daily inspections and checklists.


• Issue Resolution: Collaborate with management, purchasing, and other departments to resolve discrepancies involving damaged goods, shortages, incorrect shipments, and other receiving or inventory issues.


• Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to improve warehouse layouts, inventory organization, material flow, and operational workflows to increase productivity and efficiency.


• Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with sales, purchasing, field service, and other operational departments to support business needs, resolve material-related issues, and maintain efficient day-to-day operations.

Job Requirements:

• ≥98% accuracy rate on all inbound and outbound shipments.


• Resolution of ≥90% of shipping or receiving discrepancies within 24 hours.


• 100% compliance with forklift and warehouse safety procedures.


• On-time picking, packing, and shipping of ≥95% of orders for field technicians.


• Demonstrated improvement in warehouse organization efficiency as measured by reduced pick/pack times or error rates.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in supply chain, logistics, or related field preferred.


• 2–4 years of experience in warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, or logistics.


• Experience in UPS shipping systems preferred.

Physical / Environmental Requirements

This position is performed 100% on-site and includes both office and warehouse work environments. Duties are primarily performed at a workstation using computers and standard office equipment; however, the role also requires regular movement throughout the warehouse to receive, inspect, identify, and reconcile materials. The position requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials as needed. Warehouse work may involve exposure to varying temperatures and moderate noise levels.

Compensation and Benefits:

This position offers an hourly pay range from $21.00-$24.00 with opportunity to advance and full immediate benefits are offered with coverage on day one of hire.
