Job summary

ABB in Jonesboro, AR is seeking a material handler to move and manage materials on a 10‑hour shift, Monday through Thursday, with overtime as needed. This is an onsite role reporting to the Production Supervisor, with safety as a central priority in daily operations.

Key duties include reading orders, labeling, loading/unloading, moving materials between areas, shoveling bulk materials, and operating a forklift or hoist to assist in handling products.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Ability to learn, understand and follow company requirements for safety, quality and productivity.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Responsibilities

• Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
• Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
• Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
• Shovels loose materials such as sand, gravel, metals, plastics, or chemicals, into machine hoppers, vehicles and containers.
• Operates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.

This position works 10 hour shifts Monday - Thursday, with OT as needed to meet customer demand.

Your role and responsibilities:

• Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
• Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
• Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
• Shovels loose materials such as sand, gravel, metals, plastics, or chemicals, into machine hoppers into vehicles and containers such as wheelbarrows, scrap truck, or barrels.
• Operates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products
