Job summary

BYRNE ELECTRICAL SPECIALISTS is seeking a Warehouse I for the 1st shift in Rockford. This role focuses on organizing warehouse conditions and maintaining smooth product flow to production lines, with responsibilities including loading/unloading trucks and handling raw materials.

Eligible candidates must hold a valid driver’s license and a Hi-Lo license within 6 months, exhibit strong communication, and be able to work in a team while adhering to safety and FIFO practices.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
• Hi-Lo license obtained within 6 months.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to adhere to FIFO system.
• Experience in warehouse or materials handling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks.
• Maintains organization of warehouse area.
• Receives, unpacks, checks, labels, and stores/organizes raw material for production.
• Operates HI-LO forklift per license requirements and uses hand trucks as needed.
• Keep lines filled and ensure point-of-use storage.
• Organize and store all material in assigned areas.
• Enter packing slips into Syteline (receiving via computer).
• Maintain recycle and trash areas in dock area; manage trash pick-up.
• Facilitate recyclable packing and returnable totes.
• Monitor and communicate needs for min/max system (cardboard, fittings, etc.).
• Collect, store and keep records of scraped material.
• Seek cost-reducing and efficiency-improving ideas.
• Assist with product transfers between plants via company truck.
• Monitor and verify all tags on containers and barrels.
• Promote harmonious, productive relationships with colleagues and vendors.
• Project a positive company image through professional dress and integrity during visits.
• May operate Byrne Van as needed (For Byrne employees only).
• All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Job Summary : Enhance product workflow by organizing and maintaining warehouse conditions along with continuous product flow to individual lines.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Job Requirements:

Load and unload trucks.

Maintains organization of warehouse area.

Receives, unpacks, checks, labels, and stores/organizes raw material for production.

Operates HI-LO (per OSHA + MIOSH requirements license must be on person during working hours /and while operating a HILO), and hand truck equipment as necessary for unloading truck and transporting materials.

Keep lines filled (goal is point-of-use storage).

Organize and store all material in assigned areas.

Enter packing slips into Syteline (receiving via computer).

Maintains recycle and trash areas in dock area. Manage trash pick-up.

Facilitates recyclable packing and returnable totes.

Monitor and communicate needs for min/max system (cardboard, fittings, etc.).

Collects, stores and keeps records of scraped material.

Look for common sense solutions for reducing inventory costs and handling charges.

Assists w/ product transfers between plants via company truck.

Monitor and verify all tags on containers and barrels.

Promote harmonious, productive working relationships w/ colleagues (internal customers) and vendors.

Project positive company image thru proper dress (polo shirt and long pants) and high level of integrity during customer and vendor visits.

May operate Byrne Van as needed (For Byrne employees only)

All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Experience and General Skills Required:

Ideal Candidate for this role has a great attitude, exceptional attendance, takes initiative and is organized, reliable, detail oriented, able to multi-task and work effectively in a team.

Must be able to communicate well with both internal and external customers including Byrne customers, vendors, other employees and leadership.

Good organizational skills with focus on accuracy.

Understanding importance of count verification and location of all new material.

Ability to adhere to FIFO system.

Experience with root cause problem solving.

Quick learner and independent decision maker.

Continuous improvement orientated.

Technical Skills Preferred:

Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills

Education Requirements:

Valid Driver’s License and good driving record

Hi-Lo License must be obtained, within 6 months of transfer or employment, and maintained
