Description

American Furniture Rental (AFR) is looking for a Full-time Helper at our San Diego, CA location.

This is a full-time position with excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid vacation, PTO, 401K, and more.

Basic Function

Assist in preparing goods for packaging, assembly, and distribution.

Responsibilities

1. Package and wrap products according to company best practices.
2. Assemble products and stage orders as directed by management.
3. Wrap products with plastic wrap and furniture blankets, label accordingly.
4. Use hand trucks and pallet jacks as needed.
5. Protect furniture and load/secure in a safe manner.
6. Assist the driver in maintaining a clean and organized truck cab and cargo area.
7. Report damages or issues to management.
8. Adhere to all company policies, especially health and safety procedures.
9. Perform other related duties as assigned.
10. Assist lead driver or warehouse lead with loading/unloading trucks.
11. Maintain a clean work environment.
12. Help ensure safety while backing up.

Skills

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, climb stairs, bend, and stay physically active.
• Use basic tools like screwdrivers and cordless drills.

Qualifications

Education/Training: High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Experience: Prior experience in inventory preparation, packing, wrapping, and loading van lines, including domestic and international shipments.
