Job summary

Catalent is seeking a Warehouse Group Lead at its Winchester, KY site onsite. This role focuses on overseeing processes and people to ensure smooth material movement to and from production, resolving issues quickly, and maintaining a positive work environment. You will plan resources, collaborate across departments, and drive continuous improvement.

The shift is Mon-Fri 6 PM - 3 AM. Responsibilities include escalation, production readiness, performance reviews, and ensuring safety and audit

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Educational Development required.
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.
• May be required to stand, walk, kneel, squat, bend, or reach for extended periods.
• Specific vision requirements include reading labels, documents, and machines.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary escalation point for Warehouse Shift Leads and Material Handlers.
• Monitor material readiness daily and weekly to meet the production plan.
• Assist the Supervisor with daily allocation of people resources to meet production needs.
• Coordinate breaks, lunches, and PTO schedules to ensure coverage.
• Lead material movement to ensure production readiness and refer/box truck requirements.
• Conduct mid-year and annual performance reviews for direct reports.
• Act as a liaison between production and the warehouse.
• Maintain compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practice.

About Site Catalent’s Winchester, KY site is the company’s flagship U.S. manufacturing location for large-scale oral solid dose forms, operating from a 180,000-square-foot facility with fully integrated development and analytical services. The site specializes in complex and controlled-release oral dose technologies, supporting product development, technology transfer, and commercial manufacturing across pharmaceutical and consumer health programs. Winchester has a long commercial manufacturing track record, having launched 100+ products and producing billions of tablets and capsules annually, making it a critical site within Catalent’s oral dose network.

Position Summary

We have an opportunity for a Warehouse Group Lead to join our team. This role focuses on managing processes and people to ensure smooth material movement to and from production. You will guide and support team members, resolve issues quickly, and maintain a positive and productive work environment. The position involves proactive planning, resource allocation, and close collaboration with other departments to achieve operational goals while ensuring audit readiness and efficiency across multiple warehouses.

Shift: Monday-Friday 6 PM - 3 AM
Location: Winchester, KY 100% Onsite

The Role

• Serve as the primary escalation point for Warehouse Shift Leads and Material Handlers
• Monitor material readiness daily and weekly to meet the production plan
• Assist the Supervisor with daily allocation of people resources to meet production needs
• Coordinate and monitor team member breaks, lunches, and Paid Time Off schedules to ensure coverage
• Manage personnel issues such as Paid Time Off, medical leave, disciplinary actions, and dispute resolution with the Warehouse Supervisor and Human Resources
• Lead material movement to ensure production readiness, including maintaining requirements to drive the dedicated Refer/Box Truck
• Conduct mid-year and annual performance reviews for direct reports and reinforce performance expectations throughout the year
• Act as a liaison between production and the warehouse
• Serve as a safety role model by demonstrating safe work habits, identifying unsafe conditions, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures
• Maintain a clean and operational warehouse; perform GEMBA walks and correct issues proactively
• Monitor and control warehouse operations under current Good Manufacturing Practice conditions
• Assist the Warehouse Supervisor in designating authorized personnel for box truck operations
• Resolve operational issues during shifts through communication with Quality, Operations, and Engineering/Maintenance
• Ensure clear communication between shifts by monitoring shift handoff meetings
• Drive improvements aligned with Catalent Winchester goals and objectives
• Serve as a resource for general training issues
• Assist the Supervisor with performance metrics for each shift
• Complete tasks within JDEdwards to support the Warehouse Supervisor
• Perform all Warehouse Shift Lead specific tasks and responsibilities
• Other duties as required to support Catalent Pharma Solutions’ high performance

The Candidate Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Educational Development required
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience
• Valid driver’s license in good standing
• Individual may be required to stand, walk, kneel, squat, bend, or reach for an extended period of time
• Specific vision requirements include reading written documents, labels, and machines
• Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent-sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience.
