Qualifications

• Operate forklift from 5,000 to 50,000 lbs.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedures
• Lift up to 75 lbs.
• Communicate effectively with managers, customers and co-workers

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trailers, with or without mechanical freight-handling equipment.
• Ensures that load is secure by using cargo straps, tarps, ropes, and other tools.
• Performs lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying of freight.
• Loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting devices such as forklifts.
• Positions forks or lifting devices under, over, or around pallets and transports loads.
• Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting devices.
• Operates vehicle and lifting equipment safely.
• Counts, inspects, and checks markings on shipments as required by documents.
• Weighs materials or products and records weights in the system.
• Enters information in the company computer system; data input via keypunching or scanning.
• Maintains detailed business records as required.
• Reports safety hazards and injuries promptly.
• Maintains dependable attendance.
