Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Wilmington, Illinois is hiring a permanent full-time Warehouse Sit Down Forklift Operator to operate electric sit-down forklifts, RF scanners, and handle food products.

Base pay starts at $21 per hour with a $3 shift differential on B shift, weekly pay up to $24 per hour, and a 3% raise after one year. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO from month 1, and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ year of related warehouse or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• Valid forklift operator license.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work in a diverse environment.
• Punctual with good attendance.
• Able to lift and push/pull up to 35 lbs.
• Able to stand for long periods.
• Flexible schedule across shifts.
• Detail oriented with good follow-up.

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse functions, including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Follow contract performance guidelines.
• Ensure accurate picking/packing, auditing, tote induction, staging, and loading/unloading of trucks.
• Handle day-to-day paperwork in a warehouse (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
• Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing systems during core shift hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
