Job description

Job Title: Warehouse Forklift Operator

Simply put, our Warehouse Forklift Operators are masters of skillfully maneuvering industrial powered equipment. Join the team and use your skills to help Publix Distribution maintain a smooth, safe, and orderly process when moving product within Publix’s warehouses.

Responsibilities include:

1. Maneuver powered industrial equipment to move cases and pallets, placing them into their assigned slots in the warehouse.
2. Move product from the receiving dock to reserve locations.
3. Replenish pick locations as they are emptied by Warehouse Selectors, pulling product from reserve locations.
4. Rotate inventory using the most dated inventory first.
5. Maintain a clean warehouse and sweep out empty slots.
6. Occasionally fill in for Warehouse Selectors and other positions as needed.

The responsibilities listed are not all-inclusive; additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years old (19 in Alabama).
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods.
• Successfully complete a Work Attitude Survey.
• Obtain certification in pallet truck and forklift operations before start date.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 67 pounds.
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and twist.
• Operate a pallet truck or forklift with body parts within the operator compartment.
• Stack products of varying weights.
• Work under strict time requirements.
• Read, write, and verify numbers.
• Interpret, understand, and follow instructions.
