Job summary

Ryder in Whitestown, Indiana is hiring a Material Handler / Warehouse Forklift Operator to join a clean, safe, and well-run facility. The role offers weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and training to advance within a supportive supply chain team.

You will operate sit-down forklifts and other warehouse equipment, read WMS instructions, pick and stage orders, and maintain accurate data while upholding safety policies. Prior warehouse and lift experience is required; high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of two years of related warehouse and powered industrial lift experience required.
• Ability to read, perform basic math, and follow safety instructions in English.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to input data into computer system.
• Overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and apply WMS order instructions.
• Recognize and correct potential process errors before actions affect the customer.
• Identify damaged product and take appropriate action.
• Pull and stage orders; verify pallets and stage locations.
• Prepare receiving, storage and shipping documentation and maintain product accountability.
• Follow location and work center safety and security policies.
• May train others in warehouse functions and operate powered equipment.
• Operate forklift equipment or other warehouse machinery.

• Hourly Pay $20.50 per hour
• Overtime Pay: $30.75 per hour
• Schedule: Day Shift Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Requirements

• Ability to read, do basic mathematics, understand and respond to written and verbal instructions in English for the purposes of safety, work instructions, policies, etc.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and apply Warehouse Management System (WMS) order instructions
• Recognize and correct potential process errors before actions adversely affect the customer
• Recognize damaged product at any point in the warehousing process and take appropriate action when discovered.
• Pull orders accurately as assigned
• Stage orders according to carrier location and verify: number of pallets picked as well as stage location
• Prepare receiving, storage and shipping documentation retaining product accountability throughout the logistical process
• Be aware of and follow location and work center Safety and Security policies and procedures
• May be required to train others in various warehouse functions, including the safe operation of various powered industrial lift equipmen, perform housekeeping duties and other duties as assigned
• Operate fork-lift equipment or other warehouse machinery
