Overview

South Bay Sandblasting & Tank Cleaning, Inc. is a well-established shipyard subcontractor serving the U.S. Navy and major prime contractors. We are seeking a Warehouse & Facility Supervisor to lead our warehouse and driver team, oversee facility operations, and maintain equipment used in industrial and marine cleaning applications.

Applicants must already reside in the San Diego area. We are not offering relocation assistance currently.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily operations of warehouse staff and drivers.
  • Manage equipment dispatch and vehicle scheduling for field crews.
  • Oversee tool room operations and maintain an organized, safe, and efficient facility.
  • Perform hands-on mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting on small engines, pumps, and pressure washers.
  • Test, repair, and maintain pumps, gauges, jetting equipment, and related tools used for tank cleaning and flushing operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, repairs, and equipment usage.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and compliance with company and Navy requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, and safety departments to support field projects.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of warehouse or facility supervisory experience with direct oversight of hourly employees and/or drivers.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience repairing or maintaining small engines, pumps, or pressure washers.
  • Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate team members.
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems and logistics practices.
  • Proficient in planning, prioritizing, and problem-solving under pressure.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a forklift operator's license.
Preferred Experience
  • Background in industrial services, marine operations, or equipment maintenance.
  • Familiarity with fluid transfer systems, pressure testing, and pump operation.
  • Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting knowledge.
Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial systems preferred.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined or elevated spaces.
  • Pre-employment medical screening and participation in E-Verify required.
  • Must qualify for DBIDS (Defense Biometric Identification System) access to Navy shipyards.
  • Ability to read and understand technical English is essential.
  • U.S. citizenship preferred (required for some work locations).
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
