Firehawk Aerospace is a propulsion-focused aerospace and defense company based in the Dallas, TX area. Firehawk is looking for a dedicated and experienced Safety Engineer to support our mission of creating cutting-edge defense solutions while prioritizing safety and environmental responsibility. The Safety Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring that Firehawk Aerospace maintains the highest standards of safety, health, and environmental protection throughout its operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations, including industry-specific standards such as MIL-STD-882.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments of workplace and test range environments to identify potential hazards and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans, including drills and training for employees.
  • Manage environmental compliance, including hazardous material and waste management.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations at technical reviews and customer briefings.
  • Develop and enforce health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Investigate incidents and provide root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and conduct safety training programs for employees.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies.
  • Continuously assess and enhance EHS programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant EHS experience in a manufacturing or aerospace setting.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams.
  • Familiarity with emergency response procedures.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific safety standards is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM).
  • Comprehensive understanding of OSHA-1910.
  • Experience with OSHA-3912-03 and NFPA-484.
