Job summary

Guitar Center Inc. is seeking a warehouse associate to transport product using powered equipment and to move material between departments or storage areas. The role requires operating lift equipment, validating pallet accuracy, and following PkMS instructions for orders and movement.

You must be capable of reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic, with a high attention to accuracy and safety. Flexibility to work in different production areas and strong communication with team members

Qualifications

  • Must be Guitar Center certified to operate all power equipment or be able to satisfy certification process.
  • Must read, write, and perform simple arithmetic.
  • Aptitude to work with PkMS system and properly identify, retrieve, move, and secure product for storage or shipment.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and efficiency when processing orders for storage or shipment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Flexibility to work in other production areas and address changing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills to convey detailed information to drivers and processors in all departments.
  • Positive attitude and support for company goals.

Responsibilities

  • Store or retrieve product using powered equipment.
  • Check accuracy of pallets moved.
  • Split time between operating powered lift equipment and consolidation work as workload requires.
  • Receive and execute work orders and material movement instructions from PkMS system.
  • Retrieve product from proper location for shipment.
  • Allocate product for storage in proper Reserve location.
  • Maintain safety and housekeeping standards in the department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by area supervisor.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

Transports product via powered equipment for the Reserve or Receiving department. Moves material between departments or in and out of storage locations. Makes sure that product is properly allocated for storage or shipping.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Store or retrieve product using appropriate powered equipment.
  • Check accuracy of pallets moved.
  • Time will be split between operating powered lift equipment and working consolidation, depending on the workload and needs of the department.
  • Receive and execute work orders and material movement instruction from PkMS system.
  • Retrieve product from proper location for shipment.
  • Allocate product for storage in proper Reserve location.
  • Responsible for maintaining safety and housekeeping standards in the department.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned by area supervisor.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Must be Guitar Center certified to operate all power equipment or be willing and able to satisfy certification process if selected.
  • Must be able to read, write, and perform simple arithmetic.
  • Must have aptitude to work with PkMS system and properly identify, retrieve, move, and secure product for storage or shipment.
  • Must possess a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and efficiency when processing orders for storage or shipment.

  • Continuous mental and/or visual attention; the work requires constant alertness in a warehouse environment.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time and work in hot conditions during summer months.
  • The noise level is moderate.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis.
  • The physical demand typically applied in this job includes: lifting, pulling, reaching, carrying, pushing, standing, walking, stooping, and bending.
