Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Warehouse/Shipping Clerk to maintain a safe, clean, and accurate environment. Responsibilities include tracking inventory for load scheduling, communicating issues affecting on-time delivery, and ensuring GMP and SQF compliance.

The role requires forklift certification, battery maintenance, and adherence to Food Safety standards. You will respond to emergencies, safeguard facility access, and contribute to continual improvement and non-conforming product prevention.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification and ability to operate lift trucks safely.
• Experience with inventory tracking and load scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Track inventory for load scheduling.
• Communicate issues affecting on-time delivery (stock, trailer defects, etc.).
• Understand DC link for shipments (loading, staging, transfers, pallet movement).
• Understand the NCMR process and Pick Slip.
• Maintain forklift operations and battery care (charging/watering).
• Adhere to GMP/SQF and Food Safety Compliance; respond to emergencies.

Job Description

The purpose of this position is to maintain a safe, clean, and accurate warehouse and shipping environment.

• Responsible for tracking inventory for load scheduling.
• Responsible for communicating all customer or carrier issues to include stock issues, trailer defects, and all other issues that would affect or prevent any on-time delivery.
• Must understand DC link as it relates to shipments (loading), staging, transfers, and pallet movement.
• Must understand the NCMR process.
• Must understand customer Pick Slip.
• Must be certified to operate a forklift. Must have been trained and successfully passed the written test and performance evaluation.
• Is responsible for battery care to include charging and watering batteries.
• Perform any additional responsibilities assigned by management that the employee has been trained to perform.
• Responsible for maintaining and adhering to established Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements.
• Responsible for adhering to Food Safety Compliance.
• Respond to any emergency or potential emergency.
• Security diligence, including maintaining control of door accesses, preventing unauthorized entry to the facility by non-Amcor employees and proper maintenance/security of Amcor equipment and information.
• Constant vigilance and participation in GMP and SQF practices.
• Assist in the prevention of nonconforming product from being shipped to customers.
• Identify and record problems relating to product, process and quality systems.
• Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems.
• Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
• Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes or systems and very the implementation of solutions.

Compensation: $19/hr
