Salary Range: $32,240.00 - $48,361.00

All relevant experience must be listed on your resume.

Additional environmental pay of $1 per hour worked applies.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, operates a major centralized jail stores facility supporting the Metro and Oxbow Jails, Sheriff's Office Building, and Special Operations Building. Responsibilities include controlling inventory, unloading and delivering supplies and prisoner meals, disposing of bio-hazardous materials, securing confidential documents, and recycling.

Minimum Qualifications
  • One (1) year of related experience in a dock or warehouse environment.
  • Preference given for experience with automated inventory systems.
  • Must pass a Sheriff's Office pre-employment background check.
  • Must have a verified negative drug test result before starting; subject to random testing.
Essential Functions

Responsibilities include verifying deliveries, operating equipment such as forklifts, managing inventory, handling bio-hazardous waste, maintaining safety standards, and assisting with laundry operations. Applicants should demonstrate the ability to perform these duties with or without accommodations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of Sheriff's Office and Jail policies, safety practices, inventory control methods.
  • Skills in operating warehouse equipment, computers, and vehicles; physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs; ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations; effective communication skills.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Work occurs in a secure correctional environment, requiring constant attention to safety and security measures around prisoners and in the warehouse.

Additional Information

This is a 24-hour operation requiring shift work, including weekends and holidays.
