TileBar in New Jersey is seeking a Distribution Center Department Manager to lead the warehouse, supervise leaders and staff, and ensure merchandise flows to customers with accuracy and speed. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in warehouse operations, strong leadership, analytical skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; SAP/WMS/PIT experience is preferred.

A valid driver’s license and a flexible schedule are required.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, inventory, and personnel management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise a team including an Assistant Department Manager, Team Leaders, Trainer, and other staff.
• Ensure operational excellence and efficient use of warehouse management systems.
• Maintain organized warehouse areas and ensure safety and compliance.
• Design and implement systems to control costs in a dynamic environment.
• Train and develop associates; provide formal and informal feedback.
• Monitor performance per policies; address attendance, safety, and quality issues.
• Collaborate with other departments to support overall operations.
• Foster a safe workplace by enforcing safety policies and reducing accident costs.

Warehouse- Department Manager

As a Distribution Center Department Manager, you will be responsible for managing and directing the distribution center to ensure merchandise flows through the distribution center to our customers, leading our Team Leaders and Team Members. You will be a key player in our supply chain operation, ensuring operations run smoothly so we can ensure merchandise is being received, processed, stored, packed, and shipped properly to help us achieve our goals to get the merchandise to our customers!

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

• This position will directly supervise a team consisting of an Assistant Department Manager, Team Leader, Trainer, and other department employees.
• Ensure operational excellence in all warehouse areas. Efficient operations of warehouse management systems. Ensure processes and procedures are followed appropriately, efficiently, and safely in the warehouse. Maintain and organize all areas of warehouse so appearance is acceptable for our visitors, vendors, and customers.
• Ensures optimal staffing and efficiency levels in your respective department to achieve accurate and timely movement and processing of product.
• Assist the Operations in designing and implementing systems and processes to effectively control costs in an evolving business environment.
• Ensure proper training of new and assigned associates as it relates to their essential job functions.
• Motivate, coach, and train respective Team Leaders and Team Members providing both informal (on floor teaching moments) and formal job performance feedback. Address and discuss disciplinary actions, as necessary.
• Ensure a safe workplace by following our safety policies and procedures including accountability for reduction of and control of accident costs.
• Monitor work performance for compliance with company and department policies, including but not limited to attendance/punctuality, poor work performance, safety, production, etc.
• Participate in the development of policies and procedures for the warehouse department and ensure that all staff members are aware of and follow these policies.
• REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
• Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule; including early mornings and late nights as required.
• Partner and establish strong working relationships with other departments that provide support to the overall operation.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of OSHA Standards and regulations.
• All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Standing and walking most of the time throughout the department and warehouse.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times; seldom required to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facilities.
• Must be able to access all parts of the company equipment.
