Job summary

Wabash in Tennessee is seeking a delivery driver to operate a box truck or similar vehicle to pick up and deliver parts, materials, and finished products within the local area.

You will load trucks, plan the most efficient delivery order, deliver orders and collect payments, and maintain simple delivery records and truck mileage. You may assist in warehouse tasks after routes. A high school diploma, valid license, and forklift certification are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Valid driver's license with approved driving record.
• Forklift driving certification is required.
• Ability to read directions and use a street map.
• Ability to maintain logs and records.
• Ability to follow work instructions without constant supervision.

Responsibilities

• Loads trucks with required parts, purchase or manufactured.
• Determines most efficient order of delivery and prepares schedule showing order to be followed.
• Delivers orders and receives proper payments.
• Maintains simple records of deliveries and truck mileage.
• Coordinates maintenance schedule for truck servicing and takes other vehicles for service when instructed.
• Assists in general warehouse duties upon completing delivery route.

About the Role:

Your Responsibilities:

• Loads trucks with required parts, purchase or manufactured.
• Determines most efficient order of delivery and prepares schedule showing order to be followed.
• Delivers orders and receives proper payments.
• Maintains simple records of deliveries and truck mileage.
• Flows maintenance schedule for having truck serviced. Take other vehicles for service when instructed to do so. Reports any mechanical problems to supervisor.
• Assists in general warehouse duties upon completing delivery route

Physical Demands:

• Inside (Sheltered) 75%
• Outside 25%
• Lift up to 50lbs. frequently
• Standing approximately 75% and sitting approximately 25% of the shift
