Tyndale has a new opportunity for a Warehouse Custodian to join our team at the Houston Distribution Center near I45N and Beltway 8 on the 1st shift Monday through Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The Warehouse Custodian plays an important role in ensuring the warehouse facility operates smoothly and efficiently. The position involves keeping the warehouse clean organized, and performing various operational tasks.

Responsibilities

• Break down empty boxes at designated staging locations.
• Bale empty boxes. Make bales as the baling machine when full.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of picking and pallet locations.
• Remove Cobb webs as needed in the warehouse.
• Clean and supply designated building areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, kitchens, etc.).
• Manage cleaning supplies for the buildings.
• General cleaning of the warehouse, EMB, and under desks.
• Use cleaning supplies and equipment to keep the interior and exterior of the office building looking clean and professional.
• Respond to repair requests quickly and professionally.
• Handle emergency cleaning of spills and such.
• Wash windows, walls, and glass (and glass surfaces).
• Gather and empty the trash in bins and recycling, disposing in the correct places.
• Notify the supervisor or manager of any major repairs that must be fixed.
• Adhere to the company’s safety policies to create a safe work environment for everyone.
  
  

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, procedures, and practices.
• Strong attention to detail
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to complete tasks promptly but being able to work well under minimal supervision unless instructed to do something specific.
• Ability to handle basic maintenance, building repairs, cleaning and other janitorial work
• Physically capable of bending, standing for a duration of time, lifting and moving objects up to 40 pounds, if necessary
  
  

Work Environment/Physical Demands

• Working environment, primarily warehouse environment
• Occasionally moving boxes weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, and reaching overhead or at or below shoulder level.
• Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 40 pounds.
• Work environment might involve exposure to hazards or physical risks, requiring basic safety precautions.
