Job Title: Warehouse/Counter Service

Full Time/Non-Exempt

Location: Texarkana, TX

General Summary

This position's duties include various areas of branch operations: answering telephone calls, servicing customers, generating invoices using a computer, loading items into customers' vehicles. Responsible for the safe operation of all branch material handling equipment while pulling accurate orders, loading branch and customer vehicles, and ensuring timely deliveries to customer locations.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Provide fast and friendly customer service by following "Customer First" standards, in person or over the telephone.
  2. Greet customers as they enter the branch with a positive attitude.
  3. Ensure commitments made to customers are met or exceeded.
  4. Pull customer orders from the warehouse and load into company delivery trucks, customer vehicles, or stage items for pickup using safe material handling procedures.
  5. Produce and complete accurate paperwork including invoices, C.O.D.'s, special orders, vendor purchase orders, shipping, and receiving paperwork.
  6. Ensure all products leaving the branch are billed, and collect payments via cash or credit card following money handling procedures.
  7. Process all customer returns and warranties the same day they are received.
  8. Unload deliveries to the branch by hand or using material handling equipment and place products in designated areas.
  9. Operate lift trucks or other MHE safely and maintain equipment properly.
  10. Report any damage, safety issues, or accidents immediately to a supervisor.
  11. Maintain the appearance of the warehouse and facility by cleaning debris, pallets, cartons, sweeping, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash, and tidying shelves.
  12. Keep the yard and parking area tidy by removing trash daily.
  13. Verify the accuracy of incoming orders before stocking and organize products to prevent damage, reporting discrepancies to a supervisor.
  14. Process, prepare, and receive all products shipped by UPS.
  15. Use and maintain the counter notebook.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Education and Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of Heating and Cooling systems, parts, and supplies is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the public and/or customers.
  • Positive attitude and interpersonal skills for servicing customers in the branch, over the phone, or at delivery sites.
  • Proficiency in operating a computer and Prophet 21 software.
  • Ability to read invoices, catalogs, stock numbers, and descriptions to identify items accurately.
Work Environment

Fast-paced environment with potential interruptions. Requires frequent bending, climbing, movement, and lifting during loading/unloading and stocking. Exposure to extreme cold and heat. Typical schedule: Monday through Friday, with some half-day Saturdays. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Successful completion of pre-employment screening is required. Must be 18+ to operate a forklift.
